We kept it close last time and have tended to stay relatively close to the Chiefs but not able to get over the hump. The defense is definitely trending in the right direction but we are not good enough to beat them. I do think we're good enough to keep it close and cover 7.5, however. By this point everyone knows who they are, have adjusted to the first 1/3 season rash of injuries and there’s enough film on everyone to make in-game execution and game-planning the difference makers, you can’t just out-talent other teams by late October, this is what separates the NFL from college. We’re better than the 70-20 loss to Miami would indicate, and probably good enough that, absent a fire sale or a slew of injuries, good enough to win 3 or 4 more games and get too far out of the Williams/Maye sweepstakes. Embrace the purgatory as it’s going to be a while. KC has too good of a QB and too good of a HC for us to keep up with them. The snow you think would level the playing field but the Chiefs can play in the elements too, they’re not the 1999-2002 Rams.
