Billy B licking his chops. Ladd should still be there at pick 4.

Nah, he'll actually be a good NFL WR. When was the last time Bill drafted one of those?

I'm not crazy right today is the deadline and no word from Caleb Williams right

Correct

Best chances to be the #1 pick next year I would guess are the Tennessee Titans and the Carolina Panthers.

Titans have Derrick Henry, Al -Shaair, Autry, Fulton, Murphy-Bunting all are free agents up coming in 2024, sure some could resign but really why?  Panthers free agents up coming are Brian Burns, Luvu, Henderson, Chinn, Haynes, Gross-Matos, Chark, Shenault.

Not sure either of those two situations are better than Chicago who actually has a pretty solid team potentially coming next year.  Not to mention the nuts owner of the Panthers....

Jaylon Johnson is the only major free agent for Chicago coming up in 2024, maybe Patrick and Feeney but either one of them can be replaced and both are mot backups anyway.  Ngakoue is a free agent also but with Sweat being sign sure they can find another pass rusher in the draft.  So really in terms of a roster Chicago is a much better situation than the Titans or Panthers who might be selecting him next year if he returns to school.

He is listed as a senior so it is very likely he did or will finish it in the spring.

The normal path for guys who have finished their degrees but still have eligibility left who continue to play football is "enroll in some graduate program, even if you never have any intention of completing it."  It's conceivable that's simply not an option at Yale, as the graduate programs at Ivy League schools are largely responsible for the reputation of those places as academic powerhouses, so "getting a slot in a graduate program" is extremely competitive, and it's possible he couldn't get one even if the Athletics Department is paying his tuition.
