How do you beat the 49ers?

You’re the DC of the team about to face the 49ers, what’s your game plan to stop them? If you run man, your LBs better be able to guard Kittle and CMC out of the backfield, if you run zone, Purdy has shown he can do well against it. If you blitz your playing against the best passer against the Blitz, what’s your strategy?

But seriously...their defense has been prone to take games off before (see Minnesota this year, Raiders game last year). They haven't really done that in the playoffs under Shanny, but you never know. The defense bends a lot, so you're going to have to be aggressive and make it break.

Create pressure on Purdy. If the niners lose in the playoffs, I'd be willing to be that getting whipped on the line is the a primary component of why. They won the game against Dallas last year in the playoffs, but look at how messy that game was. If Dallas doesn't shoot themselves in the foot over and over, the Dallas defense did an excellent job on the 49ers offense. The offensive line is really bad for the niners. Purdy does a great job managing it, but he will make mistakes as well.

Get out ahead. And not 6-0. That goes back to point #1 about having to make them break sometimes. Get up by a touchdown + close to the 4th quarter and everyone knows the shanny stats. Kyle Shanahan is like the 1960 - 1980 USSR hockey team...no idea what do when they find themselves trailing enough to have to alter the script.

Their offense looked like way way more of an issue than their defense in that 3 game losing streak. Losing Deebo was huge.

Im not sure what you mean. Besides the Cleveland game they moved the ball well in both other games. They averaged 8.2 yards per play against Cincinnati and had 460 yards of offense. They averaged 6.5 against against the Vikings which is their season average. They just got bit by turnover regression which was never going to last at that rate

On defense they couldn't do anything right lol

Edit

Saying they couldn't do anything right is a little harsh. Against the Vikings they did well to hold up inside the 10. But they missed a lot of tackles during this stretch, has some penalties, were burnt by big plays and couldn't consistently finish pressure.

On offense, running was more difficult without Trent, but the offense wasn't at all a problem once the turnover went back to normal.

Bro they scored 17 points each game... stalled drive constantly and turnovers. Every defense is going to suck when their offense does that.

It's almost like turnovers impact your ability to score points?

There's a reason why major changes were made defensively but not offensively after that stretch
