Different ownership group which didn't put an emphasis on character and connecting with fans.

But also the difference between Kirk Cousins and Randy Moss, probably. No offense to Moss.

With the few interactions that I’ve had with Moss during training camp, he had all the time in the world for the kids and the young fans who just had a pure love for the game. But he wanted little to nothing to do with the adult fans.

Can't blame him, given some of what you see from adults.

Nope. Not at all.

I’ve seen this from a lot of players, but Moss was the first one that I saw it from, but he definitely approached fans with the idea that “if you’re old enough to pay for my autograph, there’s a merchandise store right over there. I’m not going to sign your official jersey or official football for free just so that you can go sell it for $500”

That is all very true.

Patrick Mahomes
Joe Burrow
Lamar Jackson
Josh Allen
Matthew Stafford
Justin Herbert
Jordon Love
CJ Stroud
Jared Goff
Tua Tagovailoa

I would say all of the above QBs are better than Kirk Cousins, Tua mostly because of his age and you have great potential with Stroud and Love of course...

Kirk Cousins
Dak Prescott

Close call between Prescott and Cousins, but not sure if the QBs were switched either team would be better off.  Vikings could benefit a lot from the mobility Prescott has though no doubt.

Highest paid QBs in the NFL.

Joe Burrow Bengals 28 $275,000,000 $55,000,000 $219,010,000 $146,510,000 2030 Void
Justin Herbert Chargers 26 $262,500,000 $52,500,000 $193,738,375 $133,738,375 2030 UFA
Lamar Jackson Ravens 27 $260,000,000 $52,000,000 $185,000,000 $135,000,000 2028 Void
Jalen Hurts Eagles 26 $255,000,000 $51,000,000 $179,304,000 $110,000,000 2029 Void
Russell Wilson Broncos 36 $245,000,000 $49,000,000 $165,000,000 $124,000,000 2029 UFA
Kyler Murray Cardinals 27 $230,500,000 $46,100,000 $160,000,000 $103,300,000 2029 UFA
Deshaun Watson Browns 29 $230,000,000 $46,000,000 $230,000,000 $230,000,000 2027 Void
Patrick Mahomes Chiefs 29 $450,000,000 $45,000,000 $141,000,000 $63,081,905 2032 Void
Josh Allen Bills 28 $258,000,000 $43,000,000 $150,000,000 $100,000,000 2029 UFA
Matt Stafford Rams 36 $160,000,000 $40,000,000 $120,000,000 $63,000,000 2027 UFA
Dak Prescott Cowboys 31 $160,000,000 $40,000,000 $126,000,000 $95,000,000 2025 Void
Daniel Jones Giants 27 $160,000,000 $40,000,000 $104,000,000 $81,000,000 2027 UFA
Aaron Rodgers Jets 41 $112,500,000 $37,500,000 $75,000,000 $75,000,000 2026 Void
Derek Carr Saints 33 $150,000,000 $37,500,000 $100,000,000 $60,000,000 2027 Void
Kirk Cousins Vikings 36 $35,000,000 $35,000,000 $70,000,000 $70,000,000 2024 Void

I would say Cousins is better than Kyler Murray, Watson, Daniel Jones, and Derek Carr.  Russell Wilson, not sure yet because both are 35 and I want to lean towards Cousins but Wilson has had a far better career up to this point in terms of actually winning when it matters.  Jalen Hurts I feel is greatly helped by his cast.  But would the Cowboys be a better team with Kirk Cousins instead of Dak Prescott?  I doubt it, would the Eagles be better with Kirk Cousin than Jalen Hurts, absolutely not because of the importance of the QB run game for them.  Would the Browns be better with Kirk Cousins instead of Watson, yeah because Watson is such a questionable person off the field and his leadership then comes into massive question.

But is Cousins worth $45-$35 mil a year?  Not so sure about that but hell if Daniel Jones gets $40....  Will be interesting what happens because if he gets $40+ mil a year he will be paid like a top 10 QB but really he is not one, there are 10 QBs better than him now and in the long term.

Former Rams passing-game coordinator and quarterbacks coach Zac Robinson will serve as the offensive coordinator in Atlanta, via Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.

Robinson, 37, joined the Rams as assistant quarterbacks coach in 2019, six years after his playing career ended. He was a seventh-round pick of the Patriots in 2010, and he spent time with the Seahawks, Lions, and Bengals during his four-year career. He moved to assistant receivers coach in 2020 before going back to assistant quarterbacks coach in 2021. He was promoted to his most recent role with the Rams in 2022.

Robinson and Morris worked together for three years in L.A.

The biggest order of business for the Atlanta offense in 2024 will be figuring out the quarterback position. Desmond Ridder’s failure to develop into a high-end starter helped grease the skids for the vacancy Morris has filled.

hmm... so would he be more interested in a Kirk Cousins veteran, or want to draft his own mentee? or both?

he would have worked with O'Connell, correct?

This 2/$90M, most guaranteed is being floated out there. Sounds fairly accurate. Laughed at the thought he’d accept less than Daniel Jones AAV

it's not being floated out there by anyone in the Vikings' office or by Kirk's camp, and that's all that matters.

and Kirk also said publicly it's not about the money, and i'll consider him a good source as to what wants to do.

your views are very much colored by a resentful attitude toward the Vikings and assuming they have only gloomy choices.

It came from Charley Walters, which is a guarantee that it's not accurate.  In fact, it's not anywhere near accurate.  This is a guy who predicted the Vikings trading JJ to the Cardinals a year ago...and that's probably one of the least crazy things the guy has said in his 40+ yrs in the newspaper biz.

$45M AAV is probably very close to what Cousins could get/ask for on the open market where two or three teams are competing for his services. But I doubt the Vikings are interested in paying that, or competing for his services.

I think it has become very clear that the Vikings have a price point in mind when it comes to Cousins. If Cousins is willing to accept a deal at that price point, he’ll be back. If he feels he is worth more, he won’t be back. Pretty straight forward.

thank you. i'll add that i don't expect a lot of haggling going on with the two camps, as both have vested interests in knowing what their futures are so they can plan accordingly. neither benefit from drawing it out over time.

each will draw a financial line they won't cross and if they aren't close enough to each other, then so be it.
