He probably didnt specifically know that you had to say "defer" to have your offense come out 2nd half (dumb rule) JA isnt botching on purpose here. We all probably didn't want him in the first place. The defense has been mostly bad during his tenure, and a lot of it seems to be scheme related. And it doesn't get better despite continuous investments being made. All that said, Jaire has been underachieving or sandbagging. He is an odd dude, so inferring things from his interviews may not be the greatest barometer, but they certainly aren't encouraging. The tone of the interviews also lend to the speculation that he is milking an injury. He was fighting his injury for the first 8 weeks of the season, earns a game ball against the Rams, then sits out 6 games. He gets paid way too much money to be going rogue on his team, and to not know the rules of the game. But that wasn't the real reason he was suspended for a game. The real reason he was suspended is that he was not elected a captain. He wasn't even supposed to be out there.
