Packers suspend CB Jaire Alexander 1 game (conduct detrimental)

A lot of us suspect there is more to this than just his team captain stunt last Sunday in Carolina.  Evidently Alexander hasn't been happy for a while.  Some of us wonder if there isn't a change at DC this offseason there is chance of mutiny in the locker room on that side of the ball.

He must've been playing too good. Part of Joe Barry's defense is always finding yourself playing in the wrong coverage, leaving receivers open by 5 to 10 yards and having no idea what the play is from the get go.

You need to stop.  Just stop.

Our defense is not about "leaving receivers open by 5 to 10 yards and having no idea what the play is from the get go."

Not at all.

Rather we employ a defensive scheme that allows our defenders to be anywhere from 10-20 yards away from receivers, regardless of down and distance.

We love to play a soft zone that will keep at least 3 players 25 yards from the line of scrimmage, right after the snap.  And we keep them there despite having no one running into said zone.

The goal is to keep everything in front of you as a player.  Then the player comes up to whiff on an open field tackle while his teammates watch on, while trying to contain their laughter.

And if that doesn't work, we will employ the Preston Smith at CB defense.  And that is the one that you really have to worry about.

But, that all being said?

Make your offers for CB1 now.  He's young and extremely talented in man on man coverage.

His contract would be about 3 years and $41M...but there are some bonuses that can go on top of that.

It'll cost GB to trade him and that is where this is likely headed.

JA doesn't like his coaches.  Plural.  Swapping out a DC probably won't make him stay.

GB and JA will say all the right things, but it will be a priority to trade him in the off-season.

His interview is crazy wild. He seems like he's really stupid. Purposefully throwing the coin toss because you're from Charlotte is next-level asshattery, and then to laugh it off and not even comprehend what you're being asked by reporters is just...I'm kind of in awe.

He wasn't intentionally calling kick.,  He's just that dim, based on that interview.  At the end, he even said "What's the difference"
