Wow Nick. And Jalen has to corral him like a parent lol.

What a disgrace by the NFC East this weekend… there are times you get unbelievable runs (Giants), dominant dynasties (Cowboys and former ‘Skins) and a former NFL dynasty turned into one hit wonders. But the networks are having meltdowns now. Everything hinges on Allen and Mahomes next Sunday, and someone has to go home.

Cable is a dying business and football has a huge demographics problem. Then end has already been set in motion. We are at the zenith of the sport. The Jordan ‘98 moment is hopefully not behind us.

No, not the NBA. That topped. Cuban sold. Could get back many years from now as football gets more controversial and flaggy.

As far as live TV, ratings could top very soon for the NFL. You have a Michael Jordan with Mahomes, but it’s becoming a star driven league now. Brady never captured the imagination of the masses. I think we are hitting peak live TV/streaming ratings this decade for sports. Will there be other comparable live entertainment to live sports? We are 50-100 years from something else substituting live sports.

No idea.  They probably have to play a bit of hardball with it, even if it's a bit of a hollow bluff without a great Plan B.  But if you're the Bucs...i think you have to hope that Baker is reasonable and recognizes that he's better off long-term, by not spurning a good thing.

But they won't really be in position to draft an instant starter QB.  I'm not super familiar with their cap situation, but i still don't think they'll be in a position to go "big game hunting" for a top guy like Cousins, or trading for Russ or anything.  So...Mayfield has a lot of leverage if he chooses to exercise it.

Bucs are in pretty decent cap space next year because they took on most of the dead cap from Brady and the other contracts this year.   Unfortunately I feel Baker is going to get a nice contract initially I thought it was going to be around Geno Smith's deal but its going to be higher because of the playoff win.
