And Rivers as well, not to Weddle's extent, but moving of veteran players was not always handled with the greatest of touches.

Can't blame Rivers for being at bit annoyed with Telesco. He never fixed the offensive line and then saddled him with Mike McCoy and Anthony Lynn.

Didn't Weddle hate him or felt disrespected by him? Don't remember the details

The Chargers have historically not handled the late career of their franchise players well at all.

Just look at Junior Seau, Ladanian Tomlinson, Weddle, Rivers.

With Rivers, Spanos were also a factor, especially how they handled the San Diego exit.

I’ve been saying Mark needs to sell the team for years and 90% of fans defend the dude… something is deeply wrong with our fanbase, they are too loyal to members and players of the organization.

Or we simply don't care to work ourselves up over crap we can't control. I will never understand keyboard warriors crying over a billionaire owner of a sports team. Support him or don't, spare us the bellyaching.

I’m not talking about “work yourself up” im talking about defending horrible decisions. People still defend Mark. People still act like he’s a good owner. He’s not. Outside of the move to Vegas, there are no examples of him being a competent NFL owner. I bet you’re already defending this move? Convincing yourself the Chargers had good rosters and it was all coaching huh? Cute. I’ve been calling the Chargers rosters fools gold on paper for years. Telesco is trash.

Obviously I will have to accept it over the next few days, and try to get hyped about it/cope, but Mark Davis proves he’s a bad owner with zero football acumen over and over and over.

Was he responsible for the coaching hires?

They always had good top end star talent, but their depth players were lacking. Was it the GM picking those players or the actual coaching development of them which was awful? Tom Telesco didn't blow a 27 point lead in the playoffs after all.

I don't care about that. I'm talking about constantly going on childish tirades about Mark Davis, nonstop. Nobody cares.

Mark is the Tommy Boy of owners, accept it and move on. Don't like it, find you another owner who meets your expectations. Not that hard.

The worst of the candidates. No idea what Davis is doing not even interviewing other HC candidates, and passing in better quality candidates for a proven failure in the FO. Off-season off to a horrible start already.

Big star picks:  Joey Bosa,  Justin Herbert, Rashawn Slater - here's the thing - they were the default pick where the Chargers were.

ngl a lot of Raider issues are literally never taking the default obvious pick in the first round.

ie. Alex Leatherwood over Christian Darrisaw
ie. Henry Ruggs (though he was at least a 1st round prospect) over Ceedee Lamb
ie. Clelin Ferell over every prospect in the draft other than Kyler, Bosa and Quinnen (popular obvious picks were like Ed Oliver, Devin White and Josh Allen the DE/LB)
ie. Tyree Wilson over Jalen Carter

that sorta thing

that sorta thing

Pretty sure that’s a Spanos thing

Whelp, that's as bad as it gets! So Davis didn't want to hire an unproven GM so he hired a proven bad one? You want the guy who drafted Johnston over Flowers and Addison just last draft (yep we can probably say it's a bad miss already) and who doesn't even re-sign the players he's been drafting? Sorry for the Raiders fans out here, that's probably the last guy the fan base wanted

Almost everyone wanted Dodds. I wanted Dodds or Trey Brown.

Rolando McClain was the obvious pick, but yeah the others all stink.
