WizardHawk
Same old song and dance. Would be nice if someone under contract would say something for once.

Jerry is the one responsible for this. I keep saying it, and "fans" keep denying it: Jerry doesn't care about winning. It's not even close to the priority in Dallas. Making money and being "relevant" vastly exceeds the value in winning to the Clampett clan. Until he dies and Stephen unclinches his tightwad a$$, we aren't going to win a damned thing. They are the problem.

As long as we have a glorified carnival barker as owner and "GM", don't expect that to happen.
MaddHatter
As expected, Cowboys converted Zack Martin's base salary to a signing bonus, clearing $13.4m from this year's space

And boy, Jerry’s strategy of extending Gallup and dumping Amari really paid off. Paid Gallup half the price of Cooper’s salary and got 1/3 of the production. Well done, Jerry. Well done.

Paid Gallup half the price of Cooper’s salary and got 1/3 of the production. Well done, Jerry. Well done. McClay and Stephen play a big part in these moves too. And while in hindsight, terrible move...it did make sense once the team landed Lamb and saw what his future held, to pair him with whom they felt provided the polar opposite skill set in Gallup. Sad that he never really bounced back from injury as fast as most thought or hoped. Now, I don't think it's injury that holds him back. It's scheme. The whole reinvention of the old school horizontal passing game known as the west coast offense has really negated a ton of what Gallup did best. And it's no wonder he slid down the pecking order in progressions as a result. They need to pair Lamb with someone, that's for certain, and it's why I think receiver is sneakily high atop their draft priorities. Can't undo the Amari deal. But trading him did allow some big bucks to be freed up ... ... And subsequently unspent. Smh
