McClay and Stephen play a big part in these moves too.

And while in hindsight, terrible move...it did make sense once the team landed Lamb and saw what his future held, to pair him with whom they felt provided the polar opposite skill set in Gallup. Sad that he never really bounced back from injury as fast as most thought or hoped.

Now, I don't think it's injury that holds him back. It's scheme. The whole reinvention of the old school horizontal passing game known as the west coast offense has really negated a ton of what Gallup did best. And it's no wonder he slid down the pecking order in progressions as a result.

They need to pair Lamb with someone, that's for certain, and it's why I think receiver is sneakily high atop their draft priorities. Can't undo the Amari deal. But trading him did allow some big bucks to be freed up ...

... And subsequently unspent.

Smh

No one thinks WR is “sneakily high” on the draft priority. Everyone knows it is. That’s the problem. These numbskulls telegraph their draft needs every damned year, and this year isn’t any different. Glaring holes at OT, C, RB, LB, and WR. Not hard to see, and even more obvious when we do literally nothing in free agency because Jerry and Stephen cry poverty.

Really bummed we lost our center….   Understand why let Armstrong go..:

Now can we really add TWO OL one a center who are better then Bass.

Biadasz was a huge weak spot on the line. No idea how he was named an alternate to the pro bowl that year. He didn't deserve it.

He wasn't bad, really. But he wasn't good either. And between two maulers like Tyler and Martin helped elevate his game some. But he was slow off his snap and unbalanced when engaged. Too slow to get to the second level in the run game and played with stiff hips in the passing game.

He was not worth the money he got. FA is always about overpaying to fill a need. But as center is typically an easier transition from college to pro, it makes sense for them to not overpay him and look to make an addition in the draft as well as take a look at what some of these younger interior guys are capable of

Bass is technically listed as a guard. But I think you can negate some of his inexperience and shortcomings by playing him at center and maximize his quick feet and lightening fast pop off the snap by playing him at center. Let him compete with a mid or late round draft pick and whatever other bottom roster guys already here, and see if someone can step forward as at least somewhat on par with Biadasz. Albeit for a ton less than he got signed for.

Perfect scenario:

1. Mims

2. Cooper

3. Van Pran

5. Tracy

6. Cephus

7. Woods

7. Raym

Another future HOFer whose career was wasted because of the incompetence of the Clampett family. Those inbred hillbillies couldn't care less who misses out on a championship as long as they make money.

Tyron was drafted in 2011. How many franchise QBs did they fail to draft between then and now?
