JA took it seriously and is making friends. Hope he grew up a bit last season and can stay healthy. Hafley needs his captains in the secondary.

I think it's pretty obvious s fair number of players were frustrated with Barry last year.

No doubt and  obviously coach/front office sided with the players. There were a few read between the lines in interviews where it was acknowledged theplayers were also out of position. Doesn’t matter who’s “fault” it was, the system was either not good enough or not easy to grasp by the players. One thing that stood out in a former player current Packers’ scout Brandian Ross interview, he liked playing 4-3 concepts much more. It is just so much more straightforward. You might not be able to disguise as much but if everyone is playing their role and playing it fast, who cares about deception. See ball, get ball.

This is excellent to see. This is the sort of stuff that makes it obvious we're gonna win the super bowl

I know @MacReady sees this too.

Ironically, I think we may have fired Barry after his best year.

Say what you will about various metrics last year, he kept points down with a secondary made up of guys he picked up at Home Depot.

The damage was just done from previous seasons both in terms of production and in terms of player relationships. Had we had a Top 5 defense and everybody played exceptionally, he may have saved his job, but it just wasn't good enough.

I just don't know why he was brought back if that was the case. If you're going into the season knowing there's a 75% chance you're going to let him go at the end of the year, just let him go. Why kick it around for the year?

Didn't LaFleur say he had to start spending a lot more time with the defense last year? That has more to do with it being Barry's "best season" and why you have to fire him.

Depends if you believe that it happened or not.

Coaches say that **** all the time to appease the press. Doesn't mean it actually happened, or happened to any substantial degree.

NFL Head Coaches also tend to be neurotic headcases. I know of a coach who requested that a coffee machine (a big one with a built in water line) be put in his defensive coach's meeting room because he felt they spent a lot of time going down the hall (like 12 steps) to get coffee from the break room. "A lot of time" is a relative thing in NFL coaching terms.

This ☝️

I've zero need to revisit the Barry era. I'm just glad he's gone and that we've turned a coaching corner.
I'm hopeful we'll see a better product on the field this year.
