The pick lacks logic considering Getsy's prior #2 TE usage unless the front office knows Mayer is a bust. As a #2 TE he will be lucky to get 25 receptions next year. This staff did not draft him and could easily just not like him as much as Bowers. Saw Bowers as an upgrade. That's the end of it. We do know that Getsy doesn't utilize 2 TEs effectively or even often. We do know that we just spent a 2nd on a TE we were told by every McZeigler apologist on this board was a slam dunk to be a heavily used TE. Notice a pattern?
