So after Aiyuk, Purdy will be the next guy we play hard ball with?

I think it will be DMO, they already said they are prepared to pay Purdy.

So they actually are arguing over ~8-9% per year? Seems like that isn't some kind of insurmountable gap given how much the cap rises every year. Ridiculous

This is feeling more and more like the NBA where players pick and choose their destination while under contract. They should make him sit.

Arguing? The team has not negotiated with Aiyuk since May lol. They just aren't talking to him or his team. Just flat out gave him a take it or leave it offer.

They laid a contract on the table and haven't touched it since May, just expecting BA to eventually show up and sign it? If that's the case they are inept

And a third and a fifth (to be clear, this is the Trent trade package so I'm having a little fun, but not entirely lol)

Agreed. If we aren't getting what we deserve in return, then there is no reason to trade him. Call his bluff and make him sit out. I'm not above being petty with him after how he's behaved all offseason.

The FO is supposedly mad at how Bosa ended up getting his way in negotiations and they never wanted that to happen....Only to have situation even worse than that one a year later lol. Aiyuk is going to force his way to the Steelers and really, the Steelers have no reason to give in to the Niners demands since they know this is the only place Aiyuk wants to be at. He's already turned down the Pats and it is only a matter of hours until we get a report that the Browns are no longer in the Aiyuk sweepstakes.

The FO played itself big time. Could be a big part of why we don't win a Super Bowl this upcoming season and then have to do some retooling where we won't be contenders for a few years....at minimum.

Good job Jed and Paraag!!!!

Them going silent then getting rolled by the player also happened with Deebo and it happened with Kittle.

They get rolled every time, which is why it's dumb as hell that they keep struggling with contracts like this lol
