And now he steals from state welfare programs, perhaps not the best example.

brett is morally corrupt that's a character thing not a brain damage thing.

Also he didn't steal it.

He just simply borrowed it and never paid some of it back because the debt is still partially accruing interest until he pays it back in full.

Hell he was doing Mississippi a service by stealing   borriwng money from the poor, what are they gonna use it for? FOOD? Pfffft.

It's his choice, but handwaving away the potential long-term effects of multiple concussions isn't a sound argument. We know what can come from having a ton of concussions, and it's not pretty. Much worse than torn ligaments or damn near any other injury other than death or paralysis.

And, really, none of us know how Brett's brain is actually functioning. There were plenty of NHL enforcers who just hid their problems but were going through serious ****. So, maybe we shouldn't say who is doing well and who isn't in regard to mental health because it's one of the loneliest battles one can go through, especially men- who rarely talk about their mental health problems.

Again, I'm all for the player's choice here. I'm sure the doctors are going to be telling him the risks going forward, so he'll be well informed to make his own medical choice, but there are serious risks to continuing playing.

brain damage can absolutely be correlated with character issues.

Trade him to Seattle, then he could become "Hawk-Tua"!!

Anyway, the brain stuff isn't anything to glaze over. I hope the kid can recover and play again without drooling for the rest of his life.

I've been probably one of the most outspoken Tua supporters during his career but even I think at this point he needs to call it quits. Kid hasn't just had a few concussions, he's had at least two major concussions. From a personal standpoint, he needs to prioritize his health & future wellbeing. I know he has a passionate love for the game, but it is ultimately just a game (I hope he will come to that realization before it's too late). From a football standpoint, I can't see how the Dolphins can think moving forward with him as a starting QB long-term is realistic after this latest concussion has made his availability risk so plainly evident.

It really sucks because I truly believe he had the talent to become an elite QB in this league without these setbacks, but it is what it is... I'll continue to root for him whatever he chooses, but more and more it seems like it's not fated to work out.

Yes but bad decision making has been a favre thing since the 80s. See his near death incident while probably drunk at college.

https://www.sportskeeda.com/nfl/it-embarrassing-humiliating-when-brett-favre-s-sexting-scandal-took-nfl-storm-forcing-league-slap-50-000-fine-qb

"During his time with the jets he also allegedly sent sexual texts to massage therapists and then caused them to lose work by not adhering to his specific requests"

Favre the OG massage therapist harassment specialist. He walked so Deshaun could run.

Tua should retire but the desire to play football as well as "not quit" will probably be the decision that keeps him playing until he medically can't (which for medical reasons there isn't a threshold) concussions vary a lot and while we have no idea of the severity of Tua's I'd wager they're on the worse end.

But the decision is Tua's and Tua's alone. Let the doctors say their piece, let everyone else say theirs etc but the decision should rest with him. Hope he plays a long and healthy career and gets Miami their first playoff win or even a ring.

I wonder how many fantasy teams are called Hawk Tua this year.

Go hang around Hancock county, specifically Kiln, Picayune, and BSL. The Favre's must inherit brain damage through the gene pool then, because Brett and co have had character issues since the beginning lol
