McCown was basically insurance, depth, and a mentor. TB was brought in just in case his plan to trade up didn't work, but also TB can create trade value with a good preseason performance. Macc was protecting himself. If TB looks good enough to be traded, we'll go back to McCown and the rookie.

What if Teddy looks good enough to be a Franchise QB and the #3 Pick looks like he was a waste?

What would you do?

Tag Teddy for one season.  He needs 2 or 3 seasons to show he can be a franchise qb, not just one season.

Be happy you invested in Teddy and keep playing him. Still protected in this situation.

And the #3 pick is wasted plus the 3 2nd rounders. That's like a nightmare scenario. Basically no matter what Teddy does we are tied to #3 for the next 4 years. I'm hoping they both ball out and we move Theodore to a QB needy team for a 1 or 2

I am sure Bridgewater will play a lot in preseason games as McCown stands next to a qb of the future.  If he draws plenty attraction from teams for a quick pick up trade then Jets could get 4th or 5th round pick and suffer merely 1.3m cap hit.

Since Robby Anderson likely gets a several games suspension to start off the season Dontrelle Inman could be a good pick up.
