Shoes31
I think one thing thats missing from all these Jones talks is how much money HE is getting as new money, vs cap charge for the team. Has anyone seen how much he would've made with a revised offer from us, verses the 7 mill from the Vikings? I can understand why he would feel insulted, took a paycut last year and probably gave us a hometown discount on the original contract negotiation. Then asked to take another paycut? Really feel like we did him dirty and should have kept him at that rate.
Mazrimiv
Jones seeming to take issue with what Demovsky is reporting is interesting. Wonder if we'll ever get more details about how the negations played out.
Mazrimiv
Fun fact for today Quote Tom Brady retired with north of $330 million in earnings for his 23-year NFL career. Peyton Manning nearly hit $250 million in his 18 years in the league. Kirk Cousins will clear $400 million in career earnings over 16 seasons if he plays out the duration of the new contract he agreed to with the Falcons.

These WR contracts are something Mooney gets a higher AAV and more than double the guarantees GB gave Jacobs, yet a significant segment of GB fans seem to think the Jacobs deal is bad. Packers are ahead of the curve with having a young/cheap WR group while paying for a top-end RB. Without a market correction at RB, what GB is doing will soon become the standard.

Chili
Jones must be looking at that and thinking.....how? why? He's older too. I guess Jones market suffered when Mixon hit the market. Houston pounced on Mixon, I suppose Dallas McCarthy was lukewarm on Aaron Jones if prior history is anything to go by. McCarthy always liked his big backs. Bengals, Raiders, Giants, Vikings were all looking for RBs after losing theirs. Henry actually lost leverage when the Titans signed Pollard and judging from reports looks like only one team was in for him, Baltimore. Yet somehow he comes away with a solid contract that Aaron Jones was unable to get.
