Has there ever been a team more cursed with injuries than the San Francisco 49ers under Shanahan?

Sounds like Christian McCaffrey might be out for a lot longer than anticipated. He has Achilles tendinitis in both legs. According to the article I read they have no idea when/if he'll be back this year. Went to Germany to see a specialist.

They already lost Justin Hargrave.

I think the only reason the 49ers were able to trade for McCaffrey was his injury history. Its not that shocking that after one extremely fortunate 2023 he has reverted back to injuries again. Of his 9 seasons where he started all season he has been out significant time in 5 of them.

They’ve had some bum luck but even in recent memory there were some ChargIRs teams that got hit worse. When they burned through 2 QBs and then found out Mr. Irrelevant was starting caliber, I knew they were curse proof. I think this year the age and cap catches up to them but they will still have something to say about it. If they make the playoffs, they will be a dangerous team.

49ers were in desperate need of OL help in the last draft, as they have been neglecting it for years. By far their best O lineman was their left tackle who is 36 YEARS OLD - and what did they draft in round one ? A wide receiver (who since got shot).  If Brock Purdy gets beaten up this year and is lost to injury, who do they have to blame ?

To be fair Trent would be most teans best OL by far.

For sure, but that's even more reason to draft an OL, even if he's more of a project, since he could then sit and learn from Williams. Or he could play other positions while Williams is still out there because they have not had great play outside of Williams.

Probably just a good idea to draft OL fairly high every year.. it is 5 every down starters, that protect your most important asset, after all.

Nope dont disagree there at all.

Ian Rapoport -   Raiders star WR Davante Adams informed the team that he preferred to be traded, per me and and Mike Garafolo. There is nothing imminent, but a situation to watch for sure.

Is it an unpopular opinion to have never thought "Davante deserves better", but rather he made a bad decision and is suffering the consequences of it?

Will be interesting to see if the Raiders send him somewhere he wants to be like GB did.

Here's his cost...

That's where I am with them as well. I'm not counting them out this year, and if they get hot watch out, but that roster is aging fast, and tough decisions would have to be made. A lot of those vets are going to be hitting the door soon.
