As long as there are open court cases for Watson (criminal or civil), I think the NFL keeps him off the field. Sexual assault/coercion is not a good look for the NFL, and they know it. I just have a hard time imagining he would take a short contract being 31 a year after what he did. Someone almost has to offer him a decent 3 year deal.
