I can't believe he's still in the NFL!

What about TJ Clemmings? lol

Well, he hasn't played since before the pandemic, so he's probably not an option.  🤣

Beavers was just cut last week from Washington's IR, so he's probably back in shape...and maybe the 3rd time will be the charm (he's already been here twice before).

This is one of the main reasons the Vikings are 5-1.

The Vikings have only had one starter miss a game so far. Harrison Smith was held out of the Week 3 victory over the Detroit Lions as he recovered from a concussion. Their injured reserve list is short, too. They’ve only listed six players on IR, and two, running back Ty Chandler and tight end Ben Ellefson, are likely to come back mid-season.

While injuries can be the product of bad luck, it is no accident that the team has been as healthy as it is. Tyler Williams (executive director of player health and performance) and Uriah Myrie (head athletic trainer) have embraced sports science. As a result, they hit less in training camp, had a focused plan to tackle jet lag on the team’s trip to London, and had an intense week of hydration to prepare for last week’s game in Miami. The Vikings come out of their bye week with the same 22 starters as they did in Week 1.

Vikings running back Dalvin Cook is being punished for throwing a football into the stands, but he’s keeping a good sense of humor about it. The NFL originally fined Cook $7,426 for throwing the ball into the stands. But according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the NFL will reduce that fine to $5,941 — but only if Cook completes an online remedial training course.

Cook mocked the punishment on Twitter, where he repeatedly wrote the sentence “4 will not throw football in the stands after touchdown” as if he were a schoolchild having to write the same sentence over and over as punishment.

Cook added, “In all seriousness kids stay in school don’t break rules!”

The NFL fines players for throwing the ball into the stands because of concerns that it could cause a crowd control problem. The NFL does not fine player for simply handing the football to one individual fan.

The Minnesota Vikings and the New York Giants, with only one loss each after seven weeks of play, are in control of their seasons with a clear path to the playoffs. But the conversation surrounding both teams is skeptical. They play ugly, close games and win in the fourth quarter instead of the first.

As is the case with all teams mired in ambiguity, it’s easy to make the case that one team or another will likely continue a high level of play. But most of the evidence tells us that these teams can’t keep up this level of play.

The good news for both teams is that they’re so far ahead of other NFC teams that even if they play the rest of the season as .500-level squads, they have enough wins in their back pocket to make the playoffs, with the Vikings going 10-5-1 in that scenario and the Giants going 11-6.

Arif will probably get a bunch of hate-tweets about this article today.

Arif has pretty much lost me as a football guy. He’s nothing more than a computer who bases everything he writes on what the analytics tell him.

The Vikings are 5-1 and have only put together one complete, three-phase game (Green Bay). They've won ugly while learning and the starters didn't play in the preseason. The bye week came at a perfect time for a rookie head coach. Now it's up to the coaching staff and players to identify the things that need adjusting and to implement them for the rest of the year. If the consitency gets better on offense, and we can scheme around our weaknesses on defense, we should roll to the #2 seed.

And unfortunately, we have no Grandma Millie for the Eagles fans to hate this time...who would inspire their hatred this time?

I mean, literally anyone will inspire hatred in Philly fans. If we had a 3 year old Vikings fan with terminal cancer that got featured on TV and was at a Philly/Minny playoff game, they'd still throw beers at him. Philly fans are the worst in sports.

Vikings backup offensive lineman Oli Udoh recently was charged with misdemeanor resisting arrest without violence. Through his lawyer, Udoh has issued a statement disputing some of the factual allegations that emerged through media reports of the incident.

Various reports suggest the incident arose when Udoh followed a female into the women’s restroom. Udoh disputes this. Per the statement, the female he allegedly followed disputes it, too.

“Oli never followed a woman into the restroom and never prevented a woman from going anywhere – and I have personally verified that any allegation to the contrary is 100% false,” attorney Brian Bieber said in a statement issued to PFT. “In fact, the woman approached Oli that night and they had a cordial conversation which ended in their exchanging phone numbers. She has since reached out to us and has confirmed the allegations are completely false. Oli committed no crime whatsoever under Florida law, and we look forward to a speedy resolution of this case – one in which he never should have been arrested.”

The pending charge is resisting arrest without violence. That seems unrelated to the underlying incident.

If this version of events holds up, then he will probably only get a short suspension for the resisting part. Especially since it was not violent.
