I'm sure that is a common opinion...Cris Carter himself listed Alan Page first on the Vikings' Mount Rushmore when he was asked by Gabe Henderson who the 4 would be, excluding himself. For the record, he said Page, Tarkenton, Moss, and McDaniel (and he threw in a 5th in Randle).

Which tells you that Hendon Hooker isn't all that far along in his recovery yet..and they can't trust Nate Sudfeld as a backup. vike daddy
Players will wear a special jersey patch in Minnesota's home opener against the Buccaneers. The added insignia is iconic but not ostentatious, just like the beloved figure. Rectangular with rounded corners, it is embroidered in purple with Bud Grant's signature "Bud." The familiar curves of the B and pronounced loop of the d's stem have been seen on autographed Vikings memorabilia over the years. Now it aptly will be sewn just above players' hearts – fitting, as Bud truly represented Viking spirit for Minnesota's season-opener against Tampa Bay when the Vikings wear their Classic uniforms that were launched last month. vike daddy
Anthony Barr visited the Saints, and then on Tuesday at lunchtime, Diana Russini from ESPN tweeted: “The New Orleans Saints are expected to sign both Kareem Hunt and Anthony Barr, if both players pass their physicals and are in shape, per sources.” What appeared to be a done deal — wasn’t a done deal three hours later. Mike Garafolo reported: “Free agent LB Anthony Barr had a good visit with the Saints but is departing without a deal, source says. New Orleans remains in play for him, but he has interest from other teams and could make more visits in the near future.” https://vikingsterritory.com/2023/news/top_news/not-so-fast?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook

Giants General Manager Joe Schoen said on Wednesday morning, via Darryl Slater of NJ.com, that the team will not be visiting with Barr at this time. Schoen said he wants to have a longer look at younger linebackers Darrian Beavers and Micah McFadden as they vie for playing time with Bobby Okereke in the team’s linebacking corps. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/joe-schoen-says-giants-wont-schedule-visit-with-anthony-barr

SteelKing728
I was reading the old Mike Hughes thread and we were all pretty pumped for him after being a bit surprised by the pick. Was it just injuries that derailed his career? At 26, he still has time to turn it around, but this will also be his 4th team in 4 years now. SemperFeist
23 minutes ago, SteelKing728 said: Was it just injuries that derailed his career? Injuries certainly had a negative impact on his development early in his career, and are probably a big factor as to why he’s bounced around. Players only get so much time in the league to figure out what they need to know, and be able to do what teams expect them to do. If a player doesn’t get there, then teams move on to the next guy. And once teams move on to the next guy, a player’s opportunities to show what they can, or can’t do diminishes quickly. For a guy like Hughes, his injuries came during those years where he was expected to grow and learn. Losing that development time really put him behind the eight ball, and so far he hasn’t recovered. And he probably never will.
vike daddy
JACKSON, Miss.— The Mississippi Supreme Court says it will not remove NFL Hall of Famer Brett Favre as a defendant in a civil lawsuit that seeks to recover millions of dollars of misspent welfare money meant to help some of the poorest people in the United States. A panel of three justices issued a brief ruling Wednesday, denying an appeal from Favre. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/brett-favre-cant-removed-lawsuit-misspent-welfare-money-mississippi-su-rcna99272
