The 30-year-old Abdullah played in all 17 games for the Raiders last season. He played a backup role on offense but was a significant contributor on special teams. Abudllah entered the NFL as a second-round pick of the Lions out of Nebraska in 2015. On December 4, 1977, the San Francisco 49ers went up against the Minnesota Vikings at old Metropolitan Stadium in Bloomington, Minnesota. The 7-4 Vikings were in the thick of the playoff race heading into that game, and they could ill-afford to lose it to the struggling 49ers. But things did not look good for Minnesota during the first three quarters. San Francisco built a 24-0 lead late in the third quarter. Early in the fourth quarter, Vikings head coach Bud Grant installed youthful Tommy Kramer at quarterback. That move turned everything around for the Vikings. Little by little, Kramer would lead Minnesota back into competition. Late in the fourth quarter, Kramer launched a 69-yard bomb to another young player, Vikings wide receiver Sammy White, who carried the pigskin into the end zone for the winning touchdown. Minnesota's 28-27 gut check victory kept them on pace to eventually claim another NFC Central Division crown.
