How bad/top-heavy is the East? At 14 games out of first place, the Wizards are only 4 games out of the #6 seed, while six games under 0.500. On the plus side, they are 7-3 in their last ten, so they've got that going for them.

Over their last 10, the Wiz are 4th in the NBA in defensive efficiency. Note, John Wall and Keef were subtracted. Sato and Ariza added (in different ways of course).

Tough one coming up... Golden State.

Ah, that means the Wizards are now looking to qualify for the playoffs only to lose in the first or second round, thus wrecking the one way they can get the talent infusion they desperately need.

Brilliant!

At the same time saving Ernie “Bruce Allen” Grunfeld.

One week until the trade deadline. The Wiz are 2.5 games out of the 8th seed. A few more losses could really help their draft stock. Right now, they're at/around the 10th worst record.

Squeaking into the playoffs is Redskins-esque.

So they can:

1) Keep what they have and MAYBE squeak in;

2) Partially blow it up - trade Green, Ariza, others for some picks. Green has been balling out. He and Ariza are actually nice additions to any contender;

3) Blow it up - Trade Otto or Beal. Beal gets you the most return. Otto hurt his big toe last night and has been struggling as of late... maybe that's the same injury (same toe) or others that have him in this slump. Who the hell knows. Any way you slice it, he's hurt too much.

Option 1 is dumb. 2 I'm okay with. 3 I prefer.

I find it funny our owner says no tanking when he tanked to nab Ovi and Backy. Silly owner.

They really aren't playing much better except on defense, and they just dropped 4 of their last 5 and 2 of them to 2 of the worst teams in the league, Cle & Atl.

Sure Porter is finally healthy and playing better but he only had 13 tonight (0-4 from 3) vs an awful Hawks team - go tell me that’s John Wall’s fault - and now, Porter is coming off the bench, so what?

Congratulations, we have a max player playing 6th man! Yay!

Clearly awful news with Wall tearing his achillies. He’s going to probably miss all of next season and will probably never be the same player again. Ugh, this is Arenas all over!

Anyways, It’s past time for the Wizards to tank for as high as a draft pick as they can get. Trade Porter, Green & Ariza. Give Troy Brown more minutes. Bring up Devin Robinson as your starting PF. Build around Brad Beal for the future and anything you get out of Wall in 2020/later is gravy.

Porter's shot is broke like Dwight's butt right now. And he's missing wide open shots. Sato creates plenty of great looks.

Beal is gassing.

How quickly you forget about Wall's performances against CLE and ATL, both losses, earlier this year. Go look em up.

So now you see what I’ve seen all year? Lol 😂... ok buddy. Ariza was traded for as a 3 & D players too and he can’t hit the broad side of a barn either!

Wall was playing on a heal that needed surgery, Porter, Sato - who can’t hit an open shot either - and others are healthy. They don’t have the injury excuse that Wall had.

Washington Wizards star John Wall has suffered a ruptured Achilles and will undergo surgery, the team announced Tuesday.

Wall already had season-ending surgery on his left heel to repair a nagging Achilles injury. According to the Wizards, the five-time All-Star slipped and fell at his home recently, which led to the rupture. He's expected to be out for a year in order to recover.

John Wall is done.  His whole game was built on speed and athleticism, and the Achilles injury will take that from him.  His game is going to age terribly since he’s a poor shooter.  He’s  officially the worst contract in the nba now, completely untradeable, and will drag the franchise down like and anchor for years.
