Serious question those reversals Fedor did, is that classic Fedor or some Bellator shenanigans because some of these looks so weird for someone like Chael that knows the ground game pretty well

Also, why did Fedor never fight in the UFC?

Also, what are some of his best fights that he's had? Some of these guys on his record are terrible and the biggest names I know are in his 3 fight losing streak. He does have some serious wins too but it seems like he is considered the overwhelming GOAT at HW but is that more just total wins than anything?

Fedor basically beat all the best HWs in Pride and did it super convincingly. Him beating Nogueria is the equivalent of someone coming around and wiping the floor with Jon Jones today. Nog was the unanimous best HW ever before Fedor and when he lost it was a big shock. And then beat him convincingly again in the rematch. He beat Heath Herring when Heath was a top ranked HW. He beat Semmy Schilt when he was the guy nobody wanted to fight. And of course he beat CroCop who was the scariest fighter on the planet with the most brutal highlight reel, and he did it largely on his feet. Post Pride he beat some former UFC champs in pretty spectacular fashion. His resume is filled with a lot of cans, but that's basically how Pride operated.

He's definitely not been the same for a while. Conditioning looks really suspect, chin gone, but he still has the the quick HW hands and big power so he has a chance. But his biggest weakness has always been his defensive wrestling, he's been taken down a lot but his guard is pretty active and all the wrestlers he had to face were stuck in the 90s (Coleman, Randleman), so the question always remained how would he fare against a legit HW wrestler with a well rounded skillset who won't easily fall for an armbar. Bader isn't a "legit HW", but probably the best answer to this question when Fedor is well past his prime, so this fight will most likely do nothing for his legacy either way IMO.

Haha yes. Bought it for the fight. 30 bucks

I never expected much from it. Gotta admit the guy is still a marketing genius though. Himself, whiskey, etc. It already broke records in Europe.

Really wish McGregor would start his own kickboxing promotion. It would take off easily.

I am very curious about the HW GP fight. Bader is a great wrestler but we all know his chin is glass. I hope it is a good fight

Fedor never came to UFC because he requires co-promotion with his own company. Dana White and the UFC have always met that with a hard no. Imagine K1 Global or whatever it is right next to the UFC lettering... yeah no thanks. No one is that big.

It was Fedor's management. Fedor doesn't care about any of this, he left all of it to his team which was trying to promote M-1 Global. The Strikeforce events that had Fedor on there did have copromotion with M1, and then the M1 people whined that their logo wasted put on screen often enough lol

eh Johnson wasn't really that high up to begin with. When he fought Khabib he was one fight removed from losing two in a row, a split decision to Dariush and a fight where he got clowned by Nate Diaz. You said it like he was one of the featured attractions on UFC 205. He was on the prelims, one fight ahead of Tim Boetsch vs Rafael Natal.

He was on the prelims fighting the #2 LW in the world at the time on one of the five biggest cards in UFC history.
