Well, most wanted Darnold and Chubb who at this point both look to be worse than what Dorsey did, so there IS that. It's early and all, of course.

Truth in part, but the play and evaluation on the QBs in their first year is also going as expected.

Before the season, it was expected for Rosen to struggle given that Cardinals roster... it was expected for Darnold and Josh Allen to struggle b/c they were not ready to start and for the roster around them. Baker Mayfield was thought to be able to shine and play well with the Browns b/c he was the most ready, experienced, and had the best surrounding Oline and at least one of the best offensive talent groups around him.

The vast majority of people that preferred Darnold to Mayfield (at least those that actually watched the QBs college film) knew that Mayfield would be better in year 1 AND that Sam should not have started in year 1 right away.

It does look promising at this point for Baker but we won't know how it really shakes out for years.  Think Jameis, Mariota, Dak, Goff, Alex Smith, Brees... all those QBs had various roads with highs and lows all of which at some point people thought they were trash and/or elite.

As for Chubb versus Denzel Ward, Chubb by all accounts has played well in the run game and is on pace for 8 sacks this year. He has a lot of hidden production in terms of QB pressures as well.

Chubb's production has all come while he's adapted to a new position as a 34 OLB.

Denzel looks really really good as well.

Saquon, Chubb, Ward, Darnold, and Baker have all played well this year... we'll have to wait and see if our decisions prove correct.

So far... It's promising..

We should've signed WR Jordan Matthews before the Eagles picked him back up...

He's exactly what our offense needs... reliable hands catcher, precise route runner, 3rd down specialists, diligent worker and preparer ...

Hasn't catching the football always been his biggest flaw? I know he doesn't get great separation but it seemed like his catch rate was terrible, at least his first time in Philadelphia.

Devaroe Lawrence was signed to the practice squad.

Dorsey is still a genius.

To me, that just says we gave up a 7th for a guy that nobody else put an active roster claim on upon his release. Not that I care all that much though...just a 7th.

Party true... Concentration drops were a major issue at the end of his time in Philly, but before then he was a close to elite TD/Redzone threat (8TDs in back to back years) and 3rd down target that could be depended on,

Separation issues proved not to be a fatal issue as his study habits and commitment to the game (sleeping in the office watching film with Wentz and others in what they called work slumber parties) elevated his route running.

Teams were reluctant to sign him b/c of his inability to stay healthy with various issues the last few years

... at 6'2"- 6'3" and 26 years old.. he should've been picked up sooner... one thing that negated that as well were his longterm contract demands...

hopefully we can bring in a Rishard Matthews b/c despite all of Callaway's talent... the 8 plus mental and play errors he made against Oakland proved he's not ready to be a primary option...

I think his strength is positioning and battling for the football which is great in the red zone. The drops still scare me but I'd certainly have given him a look. Then again, I'd give Dez a look he has the same strengths.
