It was nearly double his previous career high (85 yards). It was the most rushing or receiving yards allowed to an individual by the Patriots that season. The Panthers lost the game by a score of 38-6. Richard Huntley would only have 4 rushing yards for the rest of his career. I remember watching this game. Ty Law had a pick six. Then Otis Smith had a pick six that was called back... then he had a pick six that was not called back. Also, that game was scheduled for week two of the season. It was pushed to week seventeen because of 9/11. So the Patriots' next game was against the Jets and that's when Mo Lewis knocked out Drew Bledsoe. So... if 9/11 hadn't happened we may never have had Brady take over for Bledsoe. In addition to, you know, lots of other more important things.

bucsfan333
The Bucs' 48-40 win over the Saints today is the only game to ever end in such a score. It's the 1,040th unique score ever recorded in NFL history.

Livewire
At one point in Steeler history QB Mark Malone actually caught the longest TD pass of 90 yards in 1981. That same year kicker David Trout missed EIGHT extra points. Yes, EIGHT. He went 38/46.

bucsfan333
Of the eight coaches who were offered a head coaching position this offseason, only Josh McDaniels won a game. New head coaches going 0-7 in the opening week is a record, beating the 0-6 record of new head coaches back in 2001.
