Who do you consider the blue bloods of the NFL?

If we're counting New England, you have to count the Browns. This is obviously going to be heavily biased toward teams that have been in your lifetime. Kids today that grow up watching college football would not think Michigan (or Notre Dame) was a historically good program.

<old man voice> Hmph, these kids today, that didn't see the Dolphins go to five Super Bowls in a 14-year span.

Yea I just don't think there are blue blood NFL teams like in college. That happens in college because the best teams always get the best players.

In the NFL, you can find something unique for every long tenured franchise. If you lined up the biggest accomplishment for every team, that might be a better way of debating it. For example:

Patriots - winning five super bowls (and going to 8) in 17 years

Dolphins - going 17-0 and winning the super bowl

Which of these was more difficult to accomplish? Which is more or less likely to happen again? There could be an actual debate there.

A team going 17-0 is less likely to happen. Not sure about 19-0 though. :D

A lot of this is super selective lol. Cowboys haven’t done a thing for nearly 25 years and didn’t do anything in the pre Super Bowl era. Steelers didn’t do anything pre Super Bowl era, had the 70’s but the 80’s were dreadful, 90’s were a mixed bag then they had two Super Bowls in the 2000’s and haven’t in the 10 years since 08. Patriots has the last two decades but they were up and down in the 90’s and pretty bad in the 80’s aside from one year and the 70’s. Niners really only had the 80’s up to 96, minus a brief spell in the early 2010’s. Packers did nothing in the 70’s and 80’s and and only went to two of the last 50 Super Bowls.

The Super Bowl era started with the 1966 season.

The Cowboys didn't exist until 1960. By 1966 they were in the NFL Championship lol

Between 1970-2003, Miami had only 2 losing seasons! TWO!

I started watching the NFL in the late 90’s. So my view of the Dolphins is a bit skewed. But only 2 losing seasons in 33 years is bad a**. Including an undefeated season.
