pnies20
What strong safeties are available in FA/trade? I haven’t looked at SS at all....

Haha Clinton Dix is still on the market. Clayton Gaethers is a good strong safety (can't stay healthy) George Iloka Adrian Phillips Those are all the strong safeties I can think of... CBrownsman
For trade there is also Eric Berry
buckeyesNut0623
If we could somehow sign FA's Shaquil Barrett LB Broncos and Safety Adrian Phillips Chargers we would be pretty darn close to 100% before the draft. Both could be had for fairly cheap considering the market these days but with over $40 million left in cap space and I think its doable and still carry over about $25 million to next years cap. We can worry about a 2nd CB and depth on other positions from the draft since we do have Mitchell in a pinch. Nothing has gone this offseason like I expected so something completely different will probably happen.
TypicalBrowns10
Pretty sure I saw on bleacher report that the Giants and browns flipped back the picks in the Vernon deal to we get our pick back and they get their pick back

I like Ha-ha but like Coleman and Boston just as much because they both have experience in Silks’ defensive scheme.

Honestly Dorsey has been on a roll of making trades and picking up players for relatively cheap with 0 gaurenteed money to them. I think Eric Berry could be another one of those players. Dorsey was the one who re-signed him. If we were to trade for him, the salary we would be paying him over the next 4 years is 12.5 Million in 2019, 9.5 million in 2020, 12 million in 2021, and 14 million in 2022. 0 dollars gaurenteed. I could see it as a 2 year rental and cut his salary for nothing when we need to start paying our guys.

Taking a big gamble of him being a starter with his health issues

NateDawg
I don’t think you can do more than pencil a guy like Berry into your lineup. With his health, he’s hard to rely on. Certainly at this stage. I’d probably prefer younger, maybe lesser versions of this. He’s more of a name than a big time player at this stage. I’m also not sure he’s a safety we want flying around in the box to complement Randall.
