The Bulls have zero incentive to trade Markkanen. They definitely aren't going to do it just to have to pay Jaylen Brown and Terry Rozier right away.

I don't think the Celtics have the assets they think they do tbh. Jayson Tatum is the only viable one they have. Brown has killed his value with his play this year and nobody wants to trade assets when they can just pay Rozier in the offseason if they want him.

Just not feasible.

Agreed. The draft picks aren't nearly as good as people thought they'd be going into the season and Brown has killed his value.

Please tell me if this is completely incomprehensible for whatever reason but would Danny Ainge under any scenario be able to acquire Lauri Markkanen from the Bulls? Would Jaylen Brown and some other players be enough? Say like tossing in Daniel Theis and Marcus Morris? Even add in one of the various draft picks the Celtics have or Terry Rozier if necessary? To me, Markkanen on the Celtics would be as good if not a better long term fit than Anthony Davis, who might stay in New Orleans or opt to go to one of the orher contenders.

Don't see the value there for the Bulls. Would have to pay players like brown and Rozier right away, and neither are terribly valuable at this point.

Brown is a couple months removed from being the #2 guy on a team in the ECF and putting up great numbers. Brown still has plenty of value.

18/5/4 on 46/40/64 shooting. He still holds plenty of value.

Top 5 bad takes I've read on this website.

I don't agree. Maybe he just got hot for a while. He's played poorly for long enough and he's on the verge of getting paid, so his value + mid-1sts in weak draft wouldn't come close to making up for multiple years of cost-controlled Markkanen.

He still has value, but the thought of him being a blue chip for a superstar like Davis or a young, cheap, modern big like Markkanen is way wrong at this point. He can obviously improve that stock, but it's way down compared to last year.

Brown as a prospect has shown he has the upside to be a legit #2 guy. GMs won’t just forget that because he’s struggled to fit with 20 wings

Doesn't matter anyways if they trade for him too in the off season.

How about Al Horford and Jaylen Brown for Lauri Markkanen? Makes sense for the Bulls from the standpoint of being able to use a veteran like Horford to teach the youngsters how to prepare and win like he did for the Celtics. Maybe the assets are slightly different but the main trade comes down to Brown and Horford for Markkanen.

Having a bunch of wings is the way the league is going.

There's little doubt Brown is better than what he's shown, but struggling to fit on a team with a lot of talent and championship aspirations is not a very good look. That + new contract immediately lowers his value from what it was this summer.
