Week 17: Colts vs Titans SNF?

Right now they are both 8-6. Next week they respectively get the Giants and Redskins at home, pretty weak teams. Meanwhile, the Ravens play at the red-hot Chargers and will most likely lose. There's a very good chance that the Titans and Colts end up 9-6 with the second wildcard on the line in their Week 17 head-to-head match-up. They aren't the sexiest teams nationally, but what other Week 17 game would deserve a primetime slot more?

also, if baltimore beats the chargers in week 16, they wont push this game to the late one.

because baltimore owns the 10-6 tiebreaker with both ten and indy

Unless the Saints beat the Steelers because the winner of Titans/Colts would get the final wildcard over them with that pesky tie.

Unfortunately, prime time games are not scheduled in week 17 for competitive balance heading in to wild card weekend.

That being said, this Titans team cannot be trusted. We may very well lay an egg against Washington and this whole thread is likely moot.

Titans and Colts have both shown they cannont be trusted after delivering turds of a game these past couple of weeks. They do however have a much more favorable matchup in week 16 than the 8-6 Ravens, who on the other hand face maybe the hottest team at the moment in the Chargers, and while the Steelers cannot be trusted either, they have the most upside to win the final games and make week 17 a three headed matchup between Titans, Colts and Ravens.

If both the Titans and Colts win next week and Ravens lose, then this matchup however should be the most anticipated week 17

The only decent matchups in terms of teams are BAL v CLE, PIT v CIN, CHI v MIN, and LAC v DEN, and none of those are amazing. The NFL got really unlucky with it's week 17 matchups this year.

Depending on how things go with the schedule, they could flex a game to SNF and by the time it starts it means nothing.

IND v TEN is likely the best shot but if the Ravens and Steelers win this week, they likely won't do that one and instead have to do another backup guaranteed win and in situation for one team.

but it happened like, every other year except last year, when there were no compelling matchups (and that was the reason)

Winner of this game is guaranteed at least the 6th seed.

If Houston loses then the winner is the AFC South Champs

If Baltimore (along with Houston) loses the the winner is the 3rd seed.

A New England loss (W/ Balt and Hou) only affects Tennessee because they beat the them head to Head. Tennesee could be the #2 seed in the case. Since the Patriots beat the Colts the Colts can only be the 3 seed.
