He still has to make a decision, but it sure seems like the time is right for him.  I'd be surprised to see him in the first round due to his position, but early 2nd I think he's gone.

Or maybe end of the first (?) or a quick, safe trade back a few slots into that 2nd round money?
Pick up the player and another 4th-5th? Who says I couldnt be a GM eh? :)

I've seen write ups on him, Ferrell, that say that the other guys benefited from the attention that he got...as well as the early pressure as guys turn away from him.

Just going on what I've seen written.

But...that is something to consider.  I look at his tackles for losses over the past two years.

2016, 6 sacks, 12.5 tackles for loss.

2017, 9.5 sacks, 18 tackles for loss.

2018, 11.5 sacks, 18.5 tackles for loss.

Always like to see that progression, he sure has it. Like Polite over him but would be thrilled with Ferrell as well.

Ferrell seems to have great "get off", and instead of taking advantage of it to get the edge, still winds up using the power game.   Worried that the power game loses some of its effectiveness when playing against NFL talent.

Still trying to figure Montez Sweat out.  Makes a lot of plays, but doesn't seem to bend the edge even though his body type will likely require it at the pro level.

Can we start rumors about Bosa so we could get him?   really like his game.

Also really like to get Zach Allen with the NO pick.  He looks like a player to me.   Relentless and has good hand use.

I see Polite and Sweat as situational players.  I see Ferrell and Z Allen as 3 down players as they are equally adept defending the run AND pass. You don't draft a two down ILB in the first round and I'd rather not draft a one down Edge in the first round.

pass-rushing specialist is way way way closer to 2-down player than the class "2 down thumper" is to rushing.

Most teams pass 60%+ of the time these days.

Okay, can see that point of view. I still want a first round pick that is an asset on all three downs.  Otherwise I think Devin White will be BPA at 12.

So I couldn't wait for measurements, watched Polite. Scares the crap out of me, everything is set up by his speed and bend, which are both top notch, but nothing is ever won with the hands. I don't think his arms are going to measure very long and that's probably the issue.

He's the DE Jason Spriggs dreams of facing. Get into that kick step and wash him by the QB all game long. His counter to the outside speed is the spin, which is also a quality spin move, but it won't be tackles with good feet.

He'll beat unathletic tackles in the NFL, but he needs a power move if he's ever going to be anything more than a nickel rusher. I don't want a nickel rusher at 12.

Appreciate the input but you gotta watch more, he's MUCH more than just a speed rusher. He actually has really long arms for a guy his size, doesn't quite add up, kinda like Aaron's hands.

I will look back again, but there's definitely some flashes of him winning with hands. I recall that jumping out to me a couple times.

No Ximines in that regard, but it's....there at least.

The South Carolina RT that was posted above is the one I most vividly remember. I watched him after Ferrell and it just wasn't close as far as being a well rounded rusher. Don't get me wrong, he can play, but at 12 he would scare me. Still extremely curious what that weigh in will be.
