It is incredibly unfair to award Chicago with those yards when the official on the field was the reason they didn't go for the recovery. He stood over the ball waving incomplete. That's the only reason Philly didn't recover. Stop acting like it was unfair. You got 3 points out of all of that.

So, let's say that catch is made on the 50 yard line, he runs on and the fumble happens at the 20. Ref blows the play dead and nobody bothers to recover the ball because they think he was down by contact. Does the ball go back to the 50?

I'm saying there is an established rule on what makes a catch a catch.  In this case, it met that definition, but was called not a catch because of other stupidity by the refs.  It doesnt' make sense to call a catch something other than a catch.

And in this case, I believe this isn't a question of "What is a catch?" so much as "What is a fumble?"

That doesn't mean you can ignore one definition of a catch because the ref made a bad call and ended the play before possession was established on the fumble.

So you want them to be allowed to be just bad enough to benefit the Bears but no more than that.

What happens after a catch is established a catch should not be able to ever overturn the previously established catch. Period.

pick 6 to start the half or we riot

lets wait until Philly takes possession for that, please.

Malf said what he meant and meant what he said.

yeah eagles are beating themselves hardcore

dumb penalties and dropped picks.

if they clean things up, they could run away with it in the 2nd half

Bears could also run away with it if they start picking on the secondary more, even in their best half they were susceptible to several big plays, and they probably won’t repeat their 1st half, they’re 2nd and 3rd stringers.
