Stefon Diggs

Remaining contract: 5 years, 69 million dollars.

69,000*.75 = 51,750/5 = 10,350/year

Offer: 10,350/5 years

His contract is 5/72k

I don’t understand how this keeps getting confusing for people

So should be 10.8k per year

If the player is an upcoming free agent that is not coming out of his BDL rookie deal, he can be signed at 75% of the value of his remaining IRL contract

The remaining IRL contract is 69 million. 3 million of it was dumped into 2018 so therefore doesn't count for this extension.

That should be BS. What they signed for is what should be used so we don’t get into these situations.

I understand where Hockey is coming from with the Diggs contract, the rules state, If the player is an upcoming free agent that is not coming out of his BDL rookie deal, he can be signed at 75% of the value of his remaining IRL contract.

The confusion comes when spotrac list the contract terms, in this case 5 yr(s) / $72,000,000 however, the guidelines don't clearly state that you must use this figure to calculate the "remaining IRL contract".  Because if you add up his cap hits from 2019 - 2023 that value is $68,968,750.  Giving us two different values and a ton of confusion.

When I 3up'ed Mike Evans, I was informed to use the contract terms, in this case  5 yr(s) / $82,500,000, his BDL contract ended up costing me $12,375, where if I had calculated the way this Diggs contract is structured, I could of saved myself 750 changing his bdl contract number to $11,625.

There should be only one way to calculate the contract and if the intention was to use the spotrac contract terms listed below this should be clearly stated in the guidelines and not left for us to interpret.

Current Contract

Mike Evans signed a 5 year, $82,500,000 contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, including $55,008,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $16,500,000. In 2018, Evans will earn a base salary of $8,258,000 and a roster bonus of $10,000,000, while carrying a cap hit of $18,258,000 and a dead cap value of $38,258,000.

CONTRACT TERMS:5 yr(s) / $82,500,000 SIGNING BONUS- AVERAGE SALARY$16,500,000 GTD AT SIGN:$38,258,000 TOTAL GTD:$55,008,000 FREE AGENT:2024 / UFA
