BrettFavre004
A BF Mock v.007 Packers have an expected cap spaces of 41 million Packers going to work on setting a tone for having a tougher more run oriented offense, better special teams and faster more playmaking D And we're off Roster Moves Released Mason Crosby - 3.6 million in savings for a guy who is not performing like a top 3 kicker yet getting paid like one Nick Perry - Only 3.3 million in savings this year, which he is likely worth, however his 10.7 million salary still needs to be paid and releasing him now vs. next offseason will also save an additional 7.2 million on 2020's cap. Notable Not Retaineds Randall Cobb - Just not producing Clay Matthews - Clay gets a multi-year offer the Packers just can't match Retained Jake Ryan - 1 year, 1 million, can compete with Morrison for the 1 ILB/ST spot. Geronomo Allison - Back on his RFA tendered offer ** Packers now have 36 million (39 - 3 million rookie pool) to work with Free Agents - Woohoo!! Offseason Champs Kareem Jackson - 3 years 27 million - Texans have some big resigns and will have to let a few walk. Jackson already 31, but already having one of his best years. Playing both corner and safety this year, he has a 79.5 CB PFF grade for 2018, 14th overall. Packers pick him up to start at CB week 1 with a potential longer term move to safety a possibility. Looking to get 4 solid corners here so we can stop playing grocery baggers every December. Luke Stocker - 2 years 4 million - LaFleur brings in his TE from Tennessee, was the 6th ranked TE on PFF last year with a grade of 76.6. Good blocking TE, can play sort of a H-Back/TE type hybrid. TJ Yeldon - 1 year 2 million - Had a promising rookie year, Jacksonville has negative cap space heading into 2019 and he has worked under Nathanial Hackett before. Yeldon is a decent receiving back and a decent pass blocker. Aaron Jones is the man, but he hasn't proven he can stay healthy, need some capable depth at RB. Anthony Barr - 1 year 12 million A week or two into free agency, no one is offering Anthony Barr the huge contract he is looking for. Packers make a play at him for a prove it deal and let him play maybe his more natural position as a 3-4 OLB at 6'5" 255 and let him get after the QB more. Plus he will get to stick it to the Vikings NFL DRAFT 1 Arizona Cardinals Quinnen Williams 2 San Francisco 49ers Nick Bosa 3 New York Jets Jonah Williams 4 Oakland Raiders Josh Allen 5 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Greedy Williams 6 New York Giants Clelin Ferrel 7 Jacksonville Jaguars Byron Murhpy 8 Detroit Lions Ed Oliver 9 Buffalo Bills Rashan Gary 10 Denver Broncos Dwayne Haskins 11 Cincinnati Bengals Devin White **** TRADE *** Washington give 15 and their 3rd for 12 and the Packers 6th The Redskins move up ahead of Miami to get a QB. Round 1 - Pick 15 Dalton Risner - OT/OG - Kansas Sate - 6'5" 308 Should be day 1 starter at RG and possible long term replacement at RT, either way. Great power and hand technique, mauling run blocker. https://thedraftnetwork.com/2018/11/28/2019-nfl-draft-player-profile-dalton-risner/ Round 1 - Pick 30 Oshane Ximines - OLB - Old Dominion - 6'3" 247 Starting to move up some draft boards, I've seen him a few times in the early 2nd, think he could eventually be crawling into the 1st round. Combine will be important for him but I'll make the assumption he will test well. Has no shortage of flashy plays against lesser talent, 32.5 career sacks and 11 forced fumbles. Seems to play smart a lot, knows when screens are coming, knows when set back and try to knock down a pass, high football IQ https://thedraftnetwork.com/2018/12/18/2019-nfl-draft-player-profile-juan-thornhill/ Round 2 - Pick 12 Josh Oliver - TE - San Jose St - 6'5" 250 Nice Block Raw TE who finally came on his senior season. Big catch radius, great athlete for a TE and his size, very willing blocker albeit has some room to work there. Can line up anywhere, love how he catches the ball. Runs very nice routes https://thedraftnetwork.com/2019/01/13/2019-nfl-draft-player-profile-josh-oliver/ **** TRADE **** Packers give their 3rd and their 4th from Washington to move back into the 2nd round Round 2 - Pick 20 Jaylon Ferguson - OLB/DE - Louisiana Tech - 6'5" 269 - Sack 45 that broke the record - Look at those hands Broke the Terrell Suggs's FBS sack record with 45 career sacks. Great athlete for his size, stud run defender, has special hand technique in his rushing moves, long arms, really a lot to like about him. Wouldn't even be a little surprised if he ends up going in the 1st round. https://thedraftnetwork.com/2018/11/07/2019-nfl-draft-player-profile-jaylon-ferguson/ https://thedraftnetwork.com/2018/12/26/5-play-prospect-louisiana-tech-edge-jaylon-ferguson/ Round 3 - Pick 15 (From Washington) Lukas Denis - FS - Boston College - 5'11" 195 True centerfielder type. Not the best tackler, can't play man well, not very versatile, but a ball-hawking, fast safety. Great instincts, can cover a lot of ground, 9 interceptions an 16 PDs in 20 career games. https://thedraftnetwork.com/2018/12/23/2019-nfl-draft-player-profile-lukas-denis/ Round 4 - Pick 12 Anthony Ratliff-Williams - WR - North Carolina - 6'1" 205 - the block Physical WR who is great at making contested catches, doesn't let the body get into his body. Good special teamer as a gunner and a returner, doesn't seems like he has top end speed, but is quick and shifty https://thedraftnetwork.com/2018/08/05/2019-nfl-draft-player-profile-iman-marshall/ Round 5 - Pick 15 Dru Samia - T/G - Oklahoma - 6'5" 295 Starting RT as a freshman and played the last 3 years at guard. Elite athlete for the OL, great speed in the zone blocking scheme at Oklahoma. Needs to gain some weight, but still displays a lot of power. Lot to work with here, could be a real good player a few years down. https://thedraftnetwork.com/2018/12/11/2019-nfl-draft-play-profile-dru-samia/ Round 6 - Pick 12 Matt Gay - K - Utah - 6'1" 210 88% kicker last year, 30/34, made 2x56 yarders, consensus all american and Lou Groza winner for best kicker Round 7 - Pick 12 George Aston - FB - 6'0" 245 Good 'ol fashioned full back. Walk on LB at Pitt, converted to FB, stand out special teamer. Lodestar
Lot of good players added here. However, I will be very unhappy if we go into next season with Tramon and Brice both starting at safety.

That's what I thought Kareem Jackson would be a S here because that's the position he played in Houston, but he's at CB here hmm.
Arthur Penske
Needs more Breeland like the Ferguson pick and Barr might be worth a tire kick
gopackgo972
Need more of an investment at DT and S in the draft. Don’t let @Outpost31 see you going IOL in the first round. That hole can be plugged via Free Agency. Would rather see an investment at DT/DE here. I like bringing Jake Ryan, he’s gonna be cheap and he’s a good 2 down ILB to compete with Morrison. Yeldon ended up being a character concern at the end of the Jags season so I’ll pass on him. Take a RB with the 6th or 7th picks. Give me Breeland over Jackson. moretti19
Really like the direction you went with free agents. I like the idea of Kareem Jackson at free safety for us. As far as the prospects, I like the positions drafted, we differ a little on prospects but overall I would be quite happy.
BrettFavre004
Jackson has played corner his whole career and played more corner this year than safety. Let him play corner. Safeties will look better with good corners, do also have 3rd rounder sitting there and still some potential in Josh Jones to play.
Packerraymond
And old Kareem Jackson over Breeland for more than Breeland will get seems like a negative move. Top 15 pick on an OL? Not a fan. Every pick after I really like though. The two EDGE players will be fun to watch at the Senior Bowl.

I'd say we've had our Parkey for 11 years and are paying him as the top kicker in the league.
Hands
I like just about every player you mentioned in the draft, but not where you picked them. I don't like Risner, a true guard, in the 1st. He's not a Nelson or a Martin and not worth that high a pick. Love Ximines, and he could move up with a great Combine.... but still see him 2nd round.Same with OLB Ferguson from LaTech. Both guys will have impact as pros IMHO. The WR ARW is good but as you mentioned...lack of speed. Many are expecting Deebo Samuel from SC to make it to the 4th and he would be a great selection for the slot position. I expect the Packers to keep Breeland, and would love Barr, just don't see the Vikes letting him go.

Not sure that's a great example given that Crosby is statistically no better of a kicker than Parkey. Over the last 3 years, Parkey and Crosby have made the same percentage of their kicks. One has been on 3 teams in 3 years and the other is paid like he's an elite kicker. I don't need Crosby cut, I need a better more consistent kicker in Green Bay. Whether that is Crosby making huge improvements as he gets older or the team bringing in a younger, hungrier player. Mason Crosby is a great dude, who's got thick skin (which you need as a kicker) but he's not all that great of a NFL player anymore.
SSG
With this being one of the strongest TE classes EVER, I think there is going to be a lot more value in the second round at TE than Josh Oliver who's probably closer to being a 4th or 5th rounder IMO. I think he'll need an amazing Senior Bowl and OJ Howard-esk combine to get that high. If we're taking a TE with that 2.12 pick, one of Albert O, Smith Jr, Fant or Hockenson will surely be there. Vikings have lime 400k of cap space heading into the offseason, which doesn’t include rookies. They would have to make some hard choices to bring him back. I get what you and the OP are saying but I don't want to downgrade either. Flat out cutting him to save a measly 3M is risky if don't have his replacement under contract. How did that work out in Chicago? The fans and organization want Gould back.
