Very interesting...maybe this is Amos money...maybe even Bell (as concerned as that makes me haha).

Dark horse candidate for this new money to me is Eric Berry. He’s probably going to be cut by tomorrow and I wonder if we couldn’t get him on a huge one year deal like the one Dante Fowler got that would take up pretty much all of this money today but have no impact beyond 2019.

Also, maybe my Tevin Coleman dream is still alive…

Bears still need to sign a  S, TE, and OLB in FA to be able to draft BPA.  Look for those positions to go next.

(Leaving aside specialists - sounds like they are just going to bring guys in and let them compete for those jobs.)

I'm thinking that having signed a RB, a Slot CB, and a Swiss Army WR/RB/KR and also gotten Braunecker signed cheap he'll be looking at Safeties and OLBs.  Clinton-Dix is coming in and I can't help but thinking he's at least given Houston's agent a ring but these guys may price themselves far above what we'd be willing to pay and we need to shoot a little lower.

We really do need vet competition at SS and another Edge Rusher for the rotation but I don't see us being able to afford the remaining first tier guys at both spots.  We're sitting at about $20 mil in cap without Davis deal.  I'd love to have Houston though.  Imagine that threesome at OLB along with Hicks at DE and Smith blitzing.  Lots of QB pressure.

Chicago Bears 2019 salary cap update 3/14/19: Have right around $170M spent on Top 51 not including Mike Davis and Ted Larsen contracts. Would guess those two deals count around ~$4M in 2019, but will knock two $495k contracts off Top 51 Bears with roughly $19M in space left

Irving tendered so you can scratch OLB off list of must signs assuming he signs.

So down to S and TE.
