Zeitler apparently injured himself Sunday, so I don't know how much that mattered.  Pff had him graded reasonably well iirc.  Tretter was the one I saw getting his backside handed to him at times.

Orchard... dude needs to pick it up.

Britt needs to realize preseason is over.

Orchard was a monster in the run game...even from an inside position

He wasn't actually given many pass rush attempts as Tyrone Holmes, Nassib, Ogbah and Jamie Collins were given those duties.

We need Myles bad....

Maybe I just describe things differently but if **I** were to describe someone as a "monster in the run game", rest assured they'd have registered at least one tackle.

I get tackles aren't everything, but they're something. Dude had a goosegg on the stat sheet and didn't jump off the screen when watching live.

InB4 "if you watch all 22"..... ;)

I get that but but you gotta understand the all22..........lol

He didn't have the stats but he split defenders and push Leveon Bell and Connor into bad running positions and was really good in 3rd down running situations...

I don't ever remember him being that stout in the run from an inside DL position and was surprised G.Williams would use him that way on critical downs....but to my surprise it worked and I walked away thinking that he'll never be a starter that makes splash plays but I'd be glad to have him in the two deep as a run down specialist...

Not good value based on where he was drafted but that draft picks a sunk cost at this point

watching all 22. Kizer needs to improve his accuracy, the throw to Kasen on the sideline he just missed.

Corey coleman was open over the middle and might get another 20 yards if there was a well placed ball.

some of the sacks, are due to bad blocking, but Kizer doesn't help his oline. Also one throw needed a decent outlet receiver. Crow, also needs to no be a weak *** blocker, if he smacked a blitzer in themouth, Kizer runs for 3-5 yards, throws the ball, instead taken down for a loss on otherwise good blocking.

I don't like plays that are 3-4 verticals routes, they just seem ineffective.

Several opportunities with the slot receiver going vertical where Kizer could have hit the outside shoulder. Two overthrows on Duke downfield and throwing behind Corey and Britt in intermediate middle. Dayes wide open on a delay with everyone else running verts! Duke wide open on GL quickie before TD to Corey. Corey was getting open a lot. Definitely have questions bout the effort/toughness of Duke and Britt but it's only one game.

Zeitler deciding to have Crow take on Shazier while he takes the blitzing safety? Come on Zeitler... Hargrave's 3 man pressures...slant the blocking left or right so Kizer can roll if need be. Idk maybe they didn't respect Hargrave enough and Tretter too much. There were also some good blitz pickups as well though. Run game all22 will be...interesting? Update: Tretter on skates when 1 on 1 run and pass. Zeitler running by a few blocks but I can see why on one. RBs don't go outside when they should. Devalve getting owned by Watt then running right past him on another run play. Useless. Concerned about Tretter but hopefully he improves.

Go out there and let it rip downfield! That's going to help Kizer tremendously. Weakness is the processing. Hence the inaccuracy, hesitancy, mis/slow diagnosing, and running around. Basically the polar opposite of Cody last season. He wanted to get that ball out quick and eyes were never downfield. Hopefully Kizer will be less hesitant to throw vertically because that's going to make the short stuff more open and help the run game, both of which he'll need if it's going to take awhile to improve the processing. I'm sure moving everyone around pre-snap makes it more difficult on him as well. Less time to diagnose, audible, feeling rushed with clock ticking down, etc.

All in all a great learning experience for Kizer, the blocking, and young receivers like Dayes, Njoku, Ricardo, Kasen. Corey and Devalve look to be in midseason form. Britt and Duke weren't involved early and kind of gave up while other guys like Kizer, Njoku, Ricardo, Corey were taking big hits at all points in the game. I'd suspect they lose snaps considering this also happened in the preseason and throughout their careers[Duke fumble vs TB in RZ, Britt's drop on 3rd in RZ]. They are divas and they are soft and should be on the bench since we have capable guys behind them who are giving their all.

I noticed that too with his accuracy. He gets the ball there, but there are a few crossing routes where the receiver cant catch in stride. Its not like hes horribly inaccurate, but he misses out on a lot due to ball placement. The concerning part is that its the same gripes that caused him to slip in the draft was that he makes a few head scratching throws (Watt INT) and didnt display consistent enough accuracy and the part that worries me is that accuracy is not a trait a QB learns, its a trait a QB either has or he doesnt.

I dont know how much you can play with him mechanics in a year or so to make him better with it. But then again, hes super young and if Hue knows what hes doing--he can hopefully at least coach him up to the point where its less noticable and only happens 2-3 times a game and not 50/50 on every pass.

There was some good with some bad, same with pre-season. For every wow pass he makes on the money like the pass down the seam to Louis, he badly missed a wide open big play opportunity like 2 balls he overthrew Duke that were both TDs and the Williams catch on the sideline. He was 2 feet away on 3 different throws for scoring 3 more TDs.

He looked great, IMO.

looked he understood his assignment very well. Gave up a few on their TE but it wasn't bad coverage.

Agreed.

Regarding the TD's he "allowed" in coverage, the first was just a great throw and catch and the second was a really nice play call. I can't really put either of those on Schobert. Had a tipped pass or two as well.

Yeah it didn't seem like he was everywhere as much as in preseason but he did well. I think the whole defense played well. The big play to AB and the PI for 41 yards were what got us. I sorta hope we held a great offense to 14 points which would be a great accomplishment and I sorta hope the Steelers offense takes a step back this year so it's a conundrum for me.
