Nothing terribly bold here. I have Looney, Taco, and Lewis being dealt, ideally for 5ths, more likely 6ths or 7ths. OL, DL, and WR would seem to be the most compelling battles, had the most difficulty with those groups

For some reason I dont see us carrying a FB this year. With Pollard and Weber both being good blockers out of the Backfield

I wouldn't be opposed to not carrying a FB. I'm sure Schultz could operate as an H-Back if need be.

Guess we'll see what Moore opts to go with.

Olawale has a guaranteed base salary this year. We lose $1M in cap room in this year by releasing him. They value him on special teams. I wouldn't hold your breath

Yeah, he just signed a 3 year deal a few months ago.

1. Has the FO said that Lee is going to be a backup only? I'd think he'd get a shot at the Sam job. Part of that whole best 3 on the field at once kind of thing. Unless you really think Joe Thomas is better than Lee.

2. Are LVE and Jaylon switching spots? I must've missed that tidbit of info.

I don't have stats on what percentage of plays the SAM LB is on the field, but whether he mans that position or provides relief for LVE and Jaylon,  I think it will be roughly the same number of snaps.   I'd rather see him keep the young guys fresh by rotating in a couple series.

Why couldn't Lee be the starter at Sam AND the primary backup at the other 2 spots? He has the skills to do so. Although asking that much of his hamstrings would likely cause them to spontaneously combust.

Likely.

I expect at time they will have Lee & Smith * LVE all on the field at the same time - while also rotating them where enough are rested to play at least one of them at all times.

It's crazy to me nobody has been brought in to compete with Maher. He's not good.

Especially when the third most accurate kicker from last year is sitting out there.
