Week 3: Jets vs Pats

This team makes me sick. We are years away yet again. How anyone can justify the way this franchise has been run and the decisions made throughout is annoying and flat out stupid. And believe me there’s been many on this forum. Anything said to question the decisions are ‘Debbie downers’ and so forth. Bollocks mate.

Our o-line has ZERO viable starters. I thought KO was a steal but it turns out we’ve been burnt on that deal. How we’ve ended up with this bad of a o-line after the great line we had during the Mangini/Rex years is unreal.

Just think about it. We invested top dollar and big time draft capital and ended up with a top o-line. It worked!! It ******* worked. So why have we not gone out and done it again. Instead we’ve signed FA bums hoping to strike lucky and a bunch of mid-low lineman who suck.

As for the defense....what’s the definition of insanity?? To try the same thing over and over and expect different results. In a passing league we’ve spent five first round picks on dlineman (who stop the run) in the last few years. Just a joke. And every time we’ve been told ‘BPA’! How can anyone take much more of this?

Moving forward we have:

an offensive head coach who has shown NOTHING in the first three weeks.

A ‘franchise qb’ who we have no real knowledge if he will be the guy or not (especially this year with his illness and this pathetic o-line)

Lacking a dominant receiver...or any receiver I might add.

Five new starters on the o-line (how long will that take)

Pass rush is pathetic yet we run a defense as slow as a pensioner. (No offense to any pensioners)

Cornerbacks can’t cover f-all. Good luck landing a top one (or two) without spending big or using our first round pick.

Oh and our kicker is ****e too.

Rant over.

I'm not too stressed about the defense because we're missing all our LB's and have no threats on the line. I expected to give up more than 30 honestly.

Offense, just bad from the playcalling to the oline. The offense couldn't even get in FG range the whole game.

There will be a spark when everyone returns, but this is a 4 win season. I'm still sticking with my 2 year prediction for Gase.

We are two pass rushers and two/three cornerbacks away from having a solid defense. Problem is that OLB and CB are the two most premium positions so it will cost a fortune in money or draft capital to sort the mess out....

and we need the money/draft picks to sort this HS offense out that we’ve got going on.

I agree on the defense.

On offense, we have to stack the offense with a new version of Marshall, Jeffery, Bennett, and Forte for his offense to be able to reach the top 10-12 in scoring. He's doing nothing with less than that.

Adam Gase is making it really hard to like him. This is already headed the way it was in Miami in which he will constantly deflect all blame to the players and in result lose the locker room.

And I’m all about accountability. But the coaching staff needs to look at what they are trying to do themselves

I love Bell's attitude in this. He's doing everything in his power to lead and uplift in this terrible time.

He's been great in our losses. I love our locker room and our culture, and I hope we can start winning for these guys. They remind me a lot of the 2009 Jets were a spark could ignite us.

People can say what they want about Rex Ryan, but that was the last time this team had any kind of respectability. The Giants played a rookie QB today and the kid throw for over three hundred yards, and had some great runs. He brought the Giants back from a huge deficit to win the game. We are still waiting for Darnold to prove he is going to be our franchise QB. Some one our board posted the Jets have another two years before we are a respected team, and he is probably right. The thing that keeps me going is that I do have faith in our GM Douglas. Before I end my rant, what ever happen to our best player on the board that we drafted this year, how did he get hurt I never saw him  play?

Rex Ryan was easily the best Coach we've had in Over a decade !

Missed on QB some with him but his scheming was great and his attitude was on point ... never figured out QB or offense tho ... we constantly were decent at least and the highs were the highest in my lifetime

I rewatched the game again....oof was it ugly.

Gase is definitely trying but we’re just way too short handed.

Crowder was playing on the outside and no Herndon meant no consistent option in the middle of the field. Berrios isn’t ready.

Every time Bell ran the ball he was met at the handoff. At this point we gotta run stretches or tosses to get him in space.

The Pass Protection is like watching 5 Wayne Hunters. They are all terrible right now and the sad thing is idk who’s the worst.

Pass rush is nonexistent even when the Corners cover.

Roberts played soft coverage all game and got picked on because of it. You have to be physical and make Brady hold the ball.

Adams is playing too much coverage but he has to right now. We need him to roam and make plays to help us get off the field faster.

Leo sucks.

Cashman is the Will of the future, he’s really good just needs to refine his technique when playing the run.

The lack of talent and consistency is killing us.

I'm happy I chose to watch KC-BAL over this mess. From the outside, 30-14 is better than I expected. But 0 offensive points... my god. And Brady didn't even have to play the whole game. If you watch the highlights on GamePass, the only plays they bother to show with the Jets' offense on the field are the (many) sacks taken. Ouch.

A short selection of offenses better than ours:

  • A Jaguars offense led by a 70s porn star
  • A Josh Allen run Bills offense
  • An offense who had their QB1 retire weeks before the season opener
  • A Joe Flacco led offense that isn't even relying on chucking it up and getting DPI calls
  • Daniel Jones' Giants offense
  • The turnover machine Jameis Winston's offense
  • The Mason Rudolph led Steelers offense
  • The Kyle Allen led Panthers offense

And you know what? You could make an argument for the trying-to-tank Dolphins too. I don't care how many injuries you have. If you're a supposed offensive guru HC like Gase... you've got to do better. And we badly need to invest everything we have in OL.

This is so weird to me. We've sucked a lot, for long stretches of time. At one point, we found something that made us very competitive, even with The Sanchize at QB. And we just let it die and haven't bothered trying anymore.
