Forge
Is he basically the kicker version of JAG? He seemed...I don't know...somewhat replaceable? Maybe I'm wrong.

His rookie year... he was consistently kicking out of the endzone IIRC. Now... not so much. He missed a gang of kicks when Anger replaced Daniel as his holder (and won punting job) last year. He became more consistent later. That being said, I predicted 4 years, $16M ($4M guaranteed). So he got double what I thought in guaranteed $. (His agent deserves a nice raise.)

Maybe I'm wrong. 20th in FG%, (80.0), 24th in XP% (88.9). Also an impossibly bad 51.9% on touchbacks, though I have no idea if they were intentionally kicking short or what. Still begs the question, what the hell are they thinking.
RuskieTitan
Billy Boy at it again with the contracts. I can't wait to see them have to let Watson walk due to cap restraints.

You know by Week 8 there's going to be a topic here titled "Bill O'Brien to Take Kicking Duties".

He's probably looking at Dallas and thinking it's cheaper to just draft a quarterback and spread that money around to pay for kickers and players you acquire via draft picks. Once Anger got the holding stuff down, Fairbairn was nearly automatic. 1 minute ago, RuskieTitan said: He's probably looking at Dallas and thinking it's cheaper to just draft a quarterback and spread that money around to pay for kickers and players you acquire via draft picks. Goodness knows that High School kicking game Tennessee was trotting out looked good, right? Sometimes, you gotta pay to get competent production - which is what the Texans have, ultimately. He's got more important things to worry about than who will coach the team, like who will be the kicker 3 years from now.
