2. This is porn for a lot of you.  Everything I see in here is people pointing out how stupid people are.  You’re enjoying it.  You’re ****ing reveling in it.  You’re enjoying people dying.  One of you said you had zero sympathy for a 30-year-old man dying because he went to a party.  Do any of you realize how unreal this is for people?  How in the **** do you expect people to understand the severity of this if they haven’t experienced it and if they’re not informed?  Personally, I know a SINGLE person who has gotten it.  One person.  ONE.  It is my best friend’s sister and the last time I saw her she was 4 years old.  She’s 24 now.  So you having zero sympathy for someone who likely had no knowledge of the severity of this thing DYING is more sickening than the person going to a COVID party.  He ****ing died, and you’re taking pleasure in it because you were right and he was wrong.

I'm only going to address this because at this point you're going to get the thread locked, but people have no reason NOT to be informed at this point. It consumes the news. Its a world wide pandemic. If you aren't informed about it at this point, you're either an idiot who refuses to believe science or you stick your head in the sand because you don't believe science. I don't have sympathy for people who act irresponsibly and face consequences, especially people who yell and shout on social media about how the pandemic is a "hoax" or "not a big deal" while they walk around mask-less spreading a virus to innocent people. Yeah, I don't have sympathy for those idiots. No one is taking pleasure in anybody dying, not having sympathy and taking pleasure are two totally different things. If a guy slapped a lion on the back and it turned around and mauled him to death I would have no sympathy for that guy.

He was 30 years old.  How many times have you heard it’s worse for older people and at risk people?  And how many 30 somethings have you heard have died?

This is literally no different than some teenage kid in a mostly innocent car accident where he was going to fast for a stupid reason.  The man was full of regret when he died.  Don’t be sympathetic, I don’t care, but that’s on you.

Sure, as you tell us all we enjoy the deaths of hundreds of thousands. You're certainly the standard for morality.

neurological virus rather than a respiratory virus

I'm guessing its not either or, but both just with different pathologies
Your nasal and oral passages are pretty close to your brain right ? And the barrier in your lungs is broken down by the virus + the inflammation
So its not a big leap to consider that this virus can pass into your brain cells and reproduce... and they've shown it in a lab setting
Real world is different but its not impossible, and the HIV virus was shown to pass into both brain and spinal fluid

The 30-year-old pandemic-denier, who attended a “COVID-19 Party,” where the host announced that he was infected beforehand, and was hosting the party to show that the virus is not as serious as “the lame stream media” pretend it is.  Near death, the man conveyed that he “thought it was a hoax, but was wrong.”  If I had to guess, he regrets dying, rather than the potential carnage he and those like him have wreaked on society for months.

That is indistinguishable from a teenager dying in a car accident while speeding.

I guess my fear is this virus lingers in the body like herpes.

And I disagree.  He thought the virus was blown out of proportion / a hoax.  Can you not see how information out there is capable of convincing people of that?  The man is dead because he was ignorant, misinformed and stupid.  Teenager of 16 years speeding recklessly down a highway, endangering other drivers... 14 years dumber.  Same amount of warnings of danger.  I would say they’re about equal.

Yeah I feel more sympathy for the people he potentially gave the virus to who might die because HE was an IDIOT.

Yeah, I give more sympathy to those people, too.  Doesn’t mean I’m going to sit here and revel in someone dying the way some people in here not so secretly do.

Same way I feel more sympathetic to the parents of some idiot teenager and any victims more than the kid, but I also sympathize with the kid.
