Bored so I put together an Urban Meyer mock off-season:

HC - Urban Meyer

Free Agency:

Malik Hooker FS - Has battled tons of injuries but could be a top safety if he could get healthy. Played with Urban at Ohio State.

Jonnu Smith TE - Upgrades our TE spot and weakens the Titans (win-win). Would be a great safety blanket for Fields. From Ocala so would be a homecoming of sorts.

Trey Hendrickson DE - Would be my number 1 FA target. Has 10.5 sacks on the year, is only 26, and from Florida. Saints are cap-strapped. Could be our poor man’s Bosa.

Mike Pouncey OL - Starting to get up their in age. Would probably love to play under Urban again. Would compete with Cann at RG.

Carlos Dunlap DE - Another older vet to reunite under Urban for a cheap deal.

Draft:

R1 P2 QB Justin Fields - Ohio State
R1 P27 CB Shaun Wade - Ohio State
R2 P2 DL Christian Barmore - Alabama
R2 P14 WR Chris Olave - Ohio State
R3 P2 OT Liam Eichenberg - Notre Dame
R4 P2 LB Chazz Surratt - North Carolina
R4 P27 C Trey Hill - Georgia
R5 P2 RB Trey Sermon - Ohio State
R5 P25 S Divine Deablo - Virginia Tech
R7 P2 LB Tuf Borland - Ohio State

Fields would be the obvious pick at QB.

Wade would shift back to inside of safety where he seems to be better suited.

Barmore was the best available DT.

Olave boosts the WR spot and helps Fields be more comfortable.

Eichenberg was heavily recruited by Urban. Competes with Cam at LT.

Surratt was the best available LB. Immediately starts at SLB.

Trey Hill was too good to pass up here. Was also recruited by Ohio State.

Trey Sermon would be the perfect change up for Robinson.

Divine Deablo would be our poor man’s Chancellor. Was recruited by Ohio State (albeit as a WR).

Borland is another Urban guy. Would be a STer and compete with Quarterman as backup MLB.

QB - Fields, Minshew

RB - Robinson, Sermon, Ozigbo

WR - Chark, Johnson

WR - Cole/Olave

WR - Shenault (Urban would make him a star)

TE - Smith, Eifert, Oliver

LT - Robinson/Eichenberg

LG - Norwell, Bartch

C - Linder, Hill

RG - Pouncey/Cann

RT - Taylor, Richardson

DE - Allen, Smoot

DT - Barmore, Bryan?

NT - Hamilton, Costin

DE - Hendrickson, Dunlap

SLB - Churratt, Jacobs

MLB - Schobert, Quarterman/Borland

WLB - Jack, Williams/Giles-Harris

CB - Henderson, Barcqoo/Claybrooks

FS - Hooker, Wingard

SS - Wilson, Thomas, Deablo

CB - S.Jones/Herndon

NB - Wade, Scott

K - Lambo

P - Cooke

LS - Matiscik

We really need to address the TE position.

Trading up for Pitts would be costly but would definitely be worth it.

With that Rams FRP, I would be comfortable taking Pat Freiermuth to give Lawrence (plz lord) another weapon and someone to work the middle of the field.

Lawrence

Robinson

Chark/Shenault/Cole (if he returns)/Johnson

Freiermuth

Thats a nice young core on offense and obviously could add more to it in FA and rounds 2-7.

Highly doubt both of those players are there at 65 and 102. Especially Nixon. Obviously you never know but Nixon is looking like a possible top 25 pick.

The sim i used which is updated fairly regularly seems to think so.

Ah trusting a sim. It’s about projecting where a guy will go but if he was there in your sim and that’s what you use then can’t argue against that. But I’d be willing to bet the house Nixon is gone before that pick.

  • With trade backs this is what I came up with I know what you’re going to say you have 12 picks why acquire more? But it’s a new regime and the value in the trade backs were decent value. But Trevor is obvious. Jaycee Horn will be a stud highly doubt he lasts as long as he does but he fell in the mock couldn’t beat the value and now you have 2 solid corners who can grow together and possibly be a mean tandem for years to come. Toney gives Trevor a toy to play with in space plus he can open up things for Chark underneath with Viska and Toney running verticals. Leatherwood replaces Cam kind of skeptical about replacing an Alabama T with another but hopefully the next staff gets him reworks Taylor and the next LT. Gainwell mixed with Robinson equals a lot of Toys for Trevor: Chark, Toney, Shenault, Gainwell, Robison.., could be 🤯. Nasirildeen could be a decent get kind of weary because he does get nicked up.. and Wilson could be a steal if you can get him that late in the draft. Wilson is going to be a man child next level he just needs the right system and coaching staff.
