But you have to nominate some others here as well, especially in such a stacked deck in this period of great movies, need some more opinions out there for the total, same can be said for @thrILL! Hold up. You consider Good Will Hunting a romance, but not The Princess Bride?

IMDb considers it one as well "drama, romance", it does not consider The Princess Bride a romance rather "Adventure, family, fantasy". But no, it is the best romance film ever made, bull****. THE DUKE
I was born in 1981, so the 90's is my prime growing up decade for movies, so these are the movies that helped shape me. This is an absolute must. In some ways yes but Sleepless in Seattle is a good romance and Meg Ryan is not some supermodel. Same with The Holiday, pretty actresses but neither are flat out gorgeous. In the romance Before Sunrise I can barely remember the actresses name but that is a really great film. The Bridges of Madison County is great, but not sure I would call Meryl Streep a supermodel either but she is a super actress and is great in tons of films. Officer and a Gentleman has Debra Winger, nothing awful and does a great job but again not some supermodel either. Sure it helps but is not always needed, the audience does need to have some affection for her or else usually it does not work.

This is an absolute must. This is pretty mean and shallow. Beauty is completely subjective. What about Brokeback Mountain or Call Me By Your Name? Can those not be considered because it features a gay romance?
