The Raider Depreciation Thread 📉

I was hoping Deablo was a stud. He misses so many tackles, weak when blocked, and sucks at coverage. He's not a starter on a good defense. Spillane sucks too, he is more of a backup. We need to revamp this LB unit. Our DTs suck too. Epps is an overpaid average SS. Moehrig is actually looking ok. I really hope Wilson comes around as a force. He flashed a little last week, which is so encouraging

I guess that’s about where we’d hoped they would improve to.

I’d like to see Turnovers improve and sacks and pressure improve. If we do those things we’ll be vastly improved overall. I think 3rd down percentage this year has been pretty decent hasn't it?

I also feel like our D is just selling out to prevent the big play, but giving up everything underneath.
Ill take it atm and 100% am happy with their improvement, they are carrying our team. Such a joke.

Still need to add some real talent to the D, but they are playing about as good as you can hope with the talent level.
I just fear, that if our O was scoring more, other teams would be able to move the ball being more aggresive as well.

Playing Broncos, Steelers 50% of the games so far, no doubt helps these stats.

This is most defenses in the NFL now. Teams playing a lot of cover 2 to protect getting beat deep after a run where these QBs were torching them in cover 3.

for sure and I get why they are doing it, but, in order for it to work you need to get the other team off schedule with a TFL, Sack or drop. Which we need to get better at.

The D is showing signs that its not incredibly far off. a DT, LB and a ball hawk in the DBs would do wonders.

Just with no pressure, its too easy for opposing Os to march the field on us when its game time.

As we suspected, it doesn’t matter if you have lots of average to below average guys to rotate in, you just get average to below average performance.

We let our best IDL walk and then added a bunch of bargain basement players. Young hasn’t really shown any flashes either really which is disappointing.

Koonce had a few flashes now he’s playing more snaps though……..

TBH I’d see how this game goes and if we lose we’re pretty likely out of contention for anything and I’d like to see us continue to give guys like Koonce and Wilson a run and I’d even like to see David Agoha given a few snaps at the end of the year. Try and get the youngsters snaps and experience and invest again in the draft. I’d only be looking to trade for a guy that’s going to be here a good few years, Maxx is a great mentor anyway and our aim is surely to have Wilson starting next year so to trade for a guy who should, if things go well only be a rotation guy next year is questionable to me. Set your stall out, build through the draft and with value free agents and accept it’ll take a bit longer.

He's a rookie and they've barely played him.

True, but he looked lead footed and not very explosive or agile in pre season where he had plenty of game time aswell, though he did look strong.
