This game doesn't do a good job of explaining stuff, so I had no clue that the game was over and I could not do anything again once I did the final mission. I wanted to do some more side missions, but I thought I could go back and do them after I finished the story. First full playthrough I did Ashley, Jack, then 3 I think I had pissed them both off by hooking up with other people. So before you go to Virmire I would complete about as much as you want to get done. There is some time after Virmire as well, but the next story mission after Virmire, don't complete until you have finished everything you want to do. The levelling is such that you can have either your Charm or Intimidate high enough if not maxed before the end. I ended the game just under level 29.
