Ragnarok
Sacramento Sasquatch Offense: QB- Joe Burrow RB- Antonio Gibson X- Michael Gallup Z- Henry Ruggs Slot- Tyler Boyd TE- Dawson Knox LT- Terron Armstead LG- Joe Thuney C- Garrett Bradbury RG- Dalton Risner RT- Rob Havenstein RB- Jonathan Taylor RB- JK Dobbins FB- Alec Ingold TE- Will Dissly WR- Preston Williams WR- N’Keal Harry WR- Tyler Johnson OT- Jedrick Wills Jr. Defense: LE- Sam Hubbard NT- Vita Vea UT- Ndamukong Suh RE- Trey Flowers WLB- Kenneth Murray MLB- Joe Schobert CB- CJ Henderson - OUT CB- Bryce Callahan Nickel- Ceedy Duce FS- Jessie Bates SS- Xavier Woods DE- K’Lavon Chaisson DT- Javon Hargrave DT- Folorunso Fatukasi DE- Jordan Jenkins LB- Kyle Van Noy CB- Sean Murphy-Bunting CB- Darious Williams S- Julian Love Offensive Formations: (3W 50%, 2RB 35%, 4W 15%) This week our base formation will be the 3 Wide. We will have Gallup and Ruggs on the outside with Boyd as the slot WR. Dawson Knox gets the start at TE. Our next formation we will feature is a 2 Back formation with Antonio Gibson and Jonathan Taylor as the backs. We will also run a 4 Wide in which N’Keal Harry will play as a big slot as the fourth receiver. Offensive Strategy: (50/50 Run Pass) Burrow Time Light those Cigars, it’s Burrow Time. The Joe Burrow era has begun in Sacramento. We are impressed by the poise, accuracy, pocket awareness and maneuverability we have witnessed from Joe. We believe he opens up what we can do with this offense. And we have full faith in him leading this team moving forward. Combo Routes We want to once again this week work on the quick passing game where Joe Burrow has shown great accuracy and decision making already in his young career. This will allow us to control the clock even with our passing game. We want to utilize combo routes that work the shallow and intermediate areas of the field giving Burrow multiple options. This will attack underneath where the deep safety is in their cover 1 making Simmons less effective in his deep zones. If the safeties begin to cheat down we will take some shots over the top. To make reads easier on Burrow we will use motions to detect man or zone coverages with our slot WR, TE, or RB. If Gotham is displaying zone looks we will adjust to some deeper routes on the outside to attack the zone pockets behind the corners in front of the safeties against cover 2 zone while still providing Burrow with underneath options in the middle of the field in Boyd and Knox, Burrow can progress to if corners bail to Cover 3. Boyd will be a favorite target working over the middle and we will look to utilize Ruggs speed on slants and drags to get him the ball quickly out in space to make plays. Move the Pocket We believe Burrow has the ability to utilize his legs to make some plays for us. So we will utilize play action from Burrow out of all formations. We will get Burrow out on bootlegs as well to move the pocket to neutralize the aggressive rush of Gotham. We want to target Gallup heavily on these play actions as well as our drag routes across the middle. 2 Back Set Our 2 Back set allows us to have two of our best young players on the field at the same time in Antonio Gibson and Jonathan Taylor. Out of this set we will use motions to move Gibson around the formation. As a slot WR, Split Back, and Wing Back. We want to utilize the unique skill set of Gibson with option plays with Taylor as well as utilizing him in the passing game. We will flare him out from the wing, run swings and wheels from the split back, and slants, arrows, and wheels from the slot. Taylor will be more of a pass protector with a couple screen plays to him to take advantage of an over aggressive pass rush. We will split the back usage this game 50/40/10 with Gibson getting the 50 percent, Taylor the 40, and JK Dobbins the 10. Zone Run We are going back to our Zone running game as we believe it gives us the best chance at success and allows our backs to play to their strengths. We really like the patience as runners of Taylor and Gibson and allowing them to find the hole and explode through it with their sub 4.40 speed. We will run stretch, inside zone, and outside zone. We will introduce some option plays out of our 2 Back set as well as a couple jet sweeps to Ruggs. Defensive Formations: We will run a Nickel formation against their three wide and a Dime against their four wide. Against any 3TE or 2RB/2WR sets we will run a 4-3. Ceedy Duce will play the nickel with Darious Williams playing the Dime. If CJ Henderson is unable to go Williams replaces him on the outside and SMB will be the dime corner. Run Defense Unfortunately for us this will be the last game for us this season that we get to have Vita Vea dominating in the middle of our dline. The good news is he will be a force for us against Gotham here along with Suh next to him and Hubbard and Flowers at end controlling the line of scrimmage. Josh Jacobs is a very good young back and we will play assignment disciplined run defense. With playing primarily zone behind our front line it will allow our second and third level to be able to read quick run cues and come up in force in run support. Pass Defense We will be running 80% mix of Cover 2 and Cover 3 with 20% man with a cover 2 shell. We respect the speed and playmaking ability of Gotham’s receiving threats. We will blitz with Kyle Van Noy frequently out of our zone coverage when we are in our 4-3 to rattle Wentz and Kenneth Murray occasionally in our Nickel. We will rotate our dline giving us fresh pass rushers throughout the game. Squatch Strong!
Ragnarok
Gotham Gashslayers OFFENSE QB - Carson Wentz RB - Josh Jacobs WR - Tyreek Hill WR - Jarvis Landry WR - Devante Parker TE - Eric Ebron LT - Jake Matthews LG - Laken Tomlinson C - Maurkice Pouncey RG - Lucas Patrick RT - Mike McGlinchey RB - Adrian Peterson RB - Mike Davis WR - Jerry Jeudy WR - Tee Higgins TE - Hayden Hurst OL - Lloyd Cushenberry OL - Brandon Knight OL - Kaleb McGary DEFENSE DE - JJ Watt NT - Dontari Poe DT - Chris Jones EDGE - Jadaveon Clowney LB - Germaine Pratt LB - Zach Cunningham CB - Xavien Howard CB - Xavier Rhodes CB - Jason Verrett S - Minkah Fitzpatrick S - Justin Simmons EDGE - Whitney Mercilus INT - Derek Wolfe INT - Henry Anderson LB - LJ Fort LB - Zach Baun CB - Rasul Douglas CB - Vernon Hargreaves S - Bradley McDougald OFFENSE (50% Pass 50% Run) 3 WR/TE/RB Base Feels good getting back to .500, now we look to solidify our contender status against a developing Sacramento team. This week we continue to aim for balance in our offense, spreading the ball around to our weapons and pounding the rock behind our stout O Line. Formations: 3WR/TE/RB (60%) - Establish the run and work off of play action. Take what they give us, we have a variety of weapons to utilize. Will mix in Jeudy and Higgins, for Landry and Parker respectively, to wear out the Squatch CBs. Jacobs is featured. 2WR/2TE/RB (15%) - Hill/Parker/Ebron/Hurst - WIll mix up who is outside and in the slots to create mismatches. Jacobs and Peterson split snaps to soften up Sac’s D Line. 4WR/RB (15%) - Hill/Landry/Jeudy in triplets with Parker in ISO; Mike Davis will be our RB in this formation, we will mainly use him in pass pro and as an outlet receiver for Wentz. 5WR (10%) - Air Raid -- Hill/Landry/Parker/Jeudy/Higgins Let’s see if the Sack Sqaushes can match personnel. Wentz has the green light to run. Generally, we think our personnel has positive matchups at all levels at this point in the season. We believe in Wentz and think he can operate this offense effectively with the O Line and weapons provided. The entire game is not on his shoulders, we want him to focus on his reads and execution, not pulling plays out of his butt like he has to IRL. With as much focus as there needs to be on our weapons, opportunities will present themselves for Carson to run, we encourage him to do so. DEFENSE - Cover 2 Nickel Shell We come out this week in our 4-2-5 Nickel defense with the objective of limiting big plays, while maintaining flexibility to match personnel. Sacramento has been struggling to move the ball and we don’t think this is the week where that changes. The Squatch feature some good players that need to be accounted for and as such we will focus on the following: Pass Defense: We are very happy with how our secondary has performed this year and will play a majority of man in this matchup, with Howard and Rhodes playing sides and Verrett in the slot. With Noah Fant out, we look to eliminate the big play from Sac’s WRs with Fitz and Simmons splitting the field over the top, defending deep routes. With help over the top, this allows our CBs to be aggressive not only at the line to disrupting short routes, but also in making plays on the ball in the intermediate range. We think we can get at least one INT out of this trio. Against 2 TE sets, we bring McDougald on; against 4 Wide Rasul Douglas gets the nod. We are going to mix in LJ Fort on passing downs this week as well, to give Sac another look. Run Defense: Sacramento features a young stable of talented RBs and we are going to make them earn every yard. We believe we have an advantage with our runstopping D Line vs. Sac’s O Line, especially on the interior. With Poe and Jones clogging the middle, Watt and Clowney can focus on setting the edge and forcing their RBs to move laterally and let our LBs clean up. From time to time we will switch it up on running downs and bring Minkah in the box and run Cover 1 with Simmons playing centerfield. Pass Rush: Again, we see an advantage for our D Line and will employ the Monster Nascar (Mercilus/Watt/Jones/Clowney) on passing downs against SacTown’s depleted O Line. Sac’s interior vs Watt and Jones is a particular mismatch we look to exploit in these scenarios. We think this is another chance to get a turnover, via strip sack or a forced errant throw. VigilantZombie
I like both gameplans, both rosters, but I think Wentz is starting to improve and I feel like Gotham has rhe right tools to come out on top in a very close matchup. 21-19 Gorham
bcb1213
Like both game plans as I think sac is gonna be able to get some goods plays out of Gibson as a receiver against the Gotham lb duo that are already struggling. However Jacob's has looked great this year and I think the Gotham secondary is slightly better so they get the win here as these are two teams have very similar looking rosters Gotham 21-20
Jlash
I like Counselors idea to move Gibson around. I think he's a larger poor mans version of Alvin Kamara if used properly, so the 2 back stuff with him and Taylor is kinda cool. I think Gotham as the defensive personnel to give Burrow fits though. With Gothams CB's being as physical as they are, if they can get a jam on the Sac WR's that defensive line can punish Burrow. I think there's a good chance Burrow connects on one or two bombs to these WR's but Gotham will move the ball more consistently.

RuskieTitan
I've mulled this one over for most of the day. Going with final answer: Sacramento.

Blue
I feel like going to 4 or 5 WR sets for a quarter of the game is a bad decision by Gotham with the way Wentz is playing, and taking Jacobs off the field for 4WR groupings compounds it. Vea, Suh, and Hargrave are going to have great games against the Gotham interior and put Wentz in bad spots throwing.
Ragnarok
I think the Gotham DL and secondary is playing well enough right now to limit Sac's offense under Burrow. And I think Wentz will have a better day against the Sac D, especially with Cj Henderson out.

I think if I didn't emphasize the 4 and 5 sets, people would say, "Hey, why did you run Jacobs into a good line and disregard his crappy secondary"
