With where they are in the cap right now I wouldn't mind getting a guy like you yannick Ngagwe. As long as the character stuff isn't an issue he would be perfect as a pass rush specialist. Then on those downs that he's in, you kick Clelin Ferrell inside.

under which scenario he'd constitute a 7.3 mil cap hit in 2023 as well

It's common practice this offseason. Teams are "borrowing" from future years when the cap should be higher. That 7M number was already at 4M before the restructure.

sure. i just dont get why they are prematurely getting a restructure done before they even have deals in place. what if the FAs we are targeting sign elsewhere? are they going to feel compelled the spend the newly freed money just because? otherwise we might have just been able to eat his cap hit this year and not tack on more money into 2022 and 2023

my issue is making this kind of committal move before its necessary

He publicly criticized the Jaguars front office and threatened to sit out so they were forced to trade him. Minnesota gave up a 2nd/5th for him and traded him after 5 games to Baltimore for a 3rd/5th and the Ravens are letting him walk in free agency. Not a great sign when three teams move on from you within a single season especially considering that he's only 25 and how desperate teams are for pass rushers.

I think signing Yannick would end up like the moves for AB and Trent Brown did. I don't think we have the culture or locker room to keep him in check.

Right that’s my main problem with him. Because here’s the thing: he’s never had less than eight sacks in a season. And we already have Max Crosby and Farrell to deal with the thing that would be his one problem on the field which is he’s not gonna ever set an edge. On our team he would never need to.

But again all of this is assuming that he won’t be a locker room problem.

I also want to see them bring take McKinley back for that similar role

or a Melvin Ingram. There are a lot of possibilities now with the amount of cat space the Raiders have that weren’t necessarily possibilities before.

If we can retool our OL/resign Good/Incognito, keep Agholor, and sign a few good vets, this could end up really good. I'll be optimistic until I don't like the signings.

I liked last years though and we targeted LB as a key weak position. This year, free safety, edge, slot, and D-tackle.

Pick 2-3 of them and the last one comes from the draft. If we get 1 of all of them, I think we may take Jeremiah Owosu Koramoah.

You laugh... but Ingram is exactly the type Gruden will over pay. A 32 year old declining players who's not impacted the game the same since 2017. Watch.... Gruden is going to give him the Jordy Nelson retirement fund package.

Lol was more towards the subliminal message Vic was sending with that tweet.

I think it’s pretty much a guarantee that Ingram will land here. Unless something crazy happens. I think he can still be productive if given a limited number of snaps to keep him fresh which I would hope would be the plan with him and not use him as an every down player. Time will tell
