Justin Fields threw some darts out there, amazing throws going to his left and to his right, just rocket shots.  Zach Wilson might have just got overtaken.  Fields is already a better athlete and based on some of these throws, has a pretty damn similar arm if not equal to Wilson.

If a team moved their QB up or down based on a pro day, they deserve to suck.

Disagree. Wilson makes you say “wow” on tape much more than Fields does. Fields struggles to read deep and make tight window throws consistently.

Playing Texas State and North Alabama will do it, and thats a flat out false statement about Fields, that is actually his greatest strength is reading the coverage/safeties deep

Fields tends to stare down his deep reads but that might be more of a function of the tOSU offense. Also you cant just reference who you play(Wilson) and not mention who you play with(Fields).

Agreed.  Justin Fields without question made similar if not better off platform throws than Zach Wilson did in his pro day.  Sure at times he struggled this past year in big games, obviously Northwestern and Indiana but he showed off a great arm at the pro day.  Possibly he could be the 1st Ohio State QB to ever succeed at a high level NFL, will see.

PS Mac Jones is a funny interview to listen to, apparently told Kyle Shanahan he liked his hat and he should give one to coach Saban.  Dude has a magnetic personality.

You're going to get into the talent around you at just about all the big schools.

Wilson himself actually had a pretty damn solid squad around him too, especially when you factor those guys into the competition. Christensen is going to go high and it wouldn't shock me if Milne goes higher than some think. Allgier was one of the higher graded RBs in college last year as well.

@LinebackerGod

Pete Werner's numbers today.

4.52 40
39.5 vertical
10-2 broad jump

Sorry man, you knew I had to bring that up haha. I just didn't see how anyone could think Werner was slow.

Yeah Werner's trapeze muscle looked like a body builder out there.  A lot more jacked than I thought he would be, and already is so solid in coverage and smooth with his mobility on the field.

It aint what Ohio State, Clemson and Alabama have at their disposal which is the greater point. The gap in competition is an overused criticism IMO.

The talent level at Ohio State is about 69,000x better than what BYU has.

Fields held onto the football too long last year and looked puzzled trying to decipher tricky coverages. He took care of the football for the most part when throwing it deep, but Wilson gives you that extra. The things Baker Mayfield does, like dropping the ball on a dime into tight coverage. You don't get those same kinds of ballsy throws from Fields. And while some might like that trait, I'd argue that he puts his team in worse spots by hanging onto the football rather than being able to chuck it downfield to a covered WR in a way that prevents it from being picked off.

I haven't watched a ton of Wilson, but his arm talent and ability to improvise is special. Wilson at his best is 100x better than Fields at his best. No Ohio State homers are going to pull me off of that point. I watched at least 80% of every OSU game from start to finish over the last two seasons.

I think it's insane to think that Fields would have been better at BYU, where he could just do whatever the F he wanted in terms of broken down plays.
