I'd suggest there is a difference between it being the only criteria, which it isn't, and it still being a heavily-factored-in criteria. The player being a person of strong faith alone isn't going to get them hired, but them being a person of strong faith does seem to be a litmus test which is used to cull the pool of players that are even considered does seem to be an argument that carries more weight. Satisfying the singular criterion alone isn't going to get your the job, but you do have to meet that criterion to merit consideration for candidacy, it appears.
