Orlando Brown Traded to the KC Chiefs

I believe that the Ravens did well with the situation at hand. He was never going to resign with us and made it clear he wanted out giving whoever we traded with leverage. So it was either keep him for the upcoming season and he walks for a third round comp pick later, or get as much draft capital now to give us the best chance to replace him AND fill other positions of need because we have plenty. We're now in position to take two players in the first round and I'm happy about that.

My ONLY gripe is trading him to the Chiefs. Like, that seriously leaves a bad taste in my mouth. However, if they had a better deal out there from another team, I'm sure they would have not have went this route.

After sitting on this for a day, I still don't understand how we're overvaluing a Pro Bowl left and right tackle who missed like one or two games in his career. I just really, really would've felt a lot better with this trade had EDC not given up the 2nd.

Well that wasn't on the table. I for one am happy with the move, we got rid of a guy that doesn't want to be here and collected a good amount of draft capital. I'm also willing to bet EDC does some wheeling and dealing to get a second back. He won't want to wait that long between 31 and 94.

This team is always looking 2 or 3 years down the road. When the **** is built stop ******* building.

This is how they operate. Do you enjoy a competitive team year in and year out? Accumulating draft capital and scouting well is the foundation of a successful football team.

I don’t enjoy losing in January. That’s not successful to me.

And if we’ve been scouting well it hasn’t shown up on draft day the past 2 years.

Do you realize how freaking spoiled you sound? Most teams can't even position themselves to have a chance in the playoffs and you are a fan of a team that has 2 Super Bowl Rings and 4 losing seasons in the last 20 years.

I'm actually quite happy with last years haul. Queen will steadily improve, Dobbins was a home run and Madibuke is going to be a stud and I'm expecting a step up from Duvernay. Not to mention picking up Campbell and Peters for 5th round picks. It's on the players to step up and win, the front office is doing a fine job at gathering talent.

One of the keys to us losing in January is not having WR's who are good enough to step up - this trade potentially allows us to solve that in this upcoming draft with the capital we now have.

We'll see how it plays out. Obviously we now have to also replace a very good RT on an offensive line that was also a liability last year as well.

Yeah had he not given up the second it’s a great deal. But the 3rd and 4th, I find of similar value to our 2nd anyway tbqh.

Most teams don’t have Lamar Jackson. Most teams weren’t 14-2 recently. Im not dissatisfied with anything less than a Super Bowl because of what we used to do. I’m dissatisfied with anything less than a Super Bowl because we’re really close right now.

It's a fair deal and to be honest there wouldn't have been a deal without that 2nd so... You seriously think the Chiefs would have given us a 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th for Brown and a 6th?

Winning the Super Bowl is hard and it takes execution and a little bit of luck to get there. The offense just flat out needs to execute better plain and simple, sure a few more pieces will help but until they execute better it will be the same song and dance. We have 9 picks to make this team better this year and I know that EDC has a plan to accomplish that.

The thing about everyone saying EDC is one of the best GM's in the league is that everyone can justifiably expect the best GM in the league to do better than strengthening one of our biggest rivals (if our aim is to actually win) in exchange for a mid 2nd round pick.

Then again maybe EDC has actually just ridden the coattails of Ozzie and then Lamar for his whole career...
