I know those guys are great, but how can it not be Evan Neal? Asking for a QB friend.

We have Cam who’s been rock solid this year and Walker Little who should be ready to go in. Don’t think going from either one of them (Little still has enormous upside imo) to Neal is that large of a jump. I also know that finding an elite edge isn’t easy and clearly an issue on this roster.

As @pwnyhas mentioned as well, do we see Detroits offense all the sudden humming from getting Sewell?

I obviously want to protect Trevor and I’m not saying abandon that, but taking an OT at the top over an elite edge (or weapon, as we’re seeing what Burrow is getting from Chase) just doesn’t feel like it’d move the needle much. Grab an elite edge or trade down and grab a weapon imo. At 3 I would’ve understood Neal if a trade down wasn’t reasonably possible. Taking him at 1 seems…meh.

I think Cam is a pretty safe re-sign at this point. Though I think the rest of the OL is a bit up in the air over whether they get new deals or replaced. I don’t think they should pencil in Little as a starter until we see some real reps from him and enough to make a judgement on that, but even if you leave RT and LG open, it doesn’t change their first round situation at all unless they’re out of range for an EDGE or WR that makes sense. You just don’t take a guy in the top 3 to play RT, LG or wherever else unless the draft class is just garbage or that guy is the clear cut best player available.

If we’re picking #3, then Neal is in play if they can’t trade down to get in range for a WR, but there’s no justification for him over either of the pass rushers.

Agreed. You can’t replace everyone. He’s been at least serviceable. That’s good enough for this team.

I also feel like not having a defense allow 30 points a game and have 8+ minute drives multiple times will help Trevor out a ton too. The offense would need to go one dimensional less, so he’ll get more help from James and ETN as runners and keep the opposing defense honest enough that they don’t just pin their ears back and get after Trev. Add some receivers and build out the rest of the line. But that premier pick gotta be on a weapon if we rattle off some wins or a game changing pass rusher if we’re picking super early.

Let's be honest I don't think any offense with Goff as your QB would exactly be humming.

For your information, here is a a nice little write-up from Reddit that gives a brief description on a bunch of the wide receivers in this year's draft.

This just from a random fan? Half the names are misspelled lol.
