Anyone that thinks Baker's wide open misses to Njoku and Schwartz vs. Kansas City, the various wide open misses today, and wide open misses last week to other players were b/c of the OBJ dark side of the force is a person irredeemably lost in the sauce.

Heard someone make a correlation that the minute baker got that shoulder Brace for his left shoulder, he has started throwing high. Time line matches

Baker has not been good in big moments

KC last year KC this year. Passing game hasn’t been right last 3 games. Couldn’t finish Lamar last year.

Of course not.

I feel you though.  I wouldn’t want to try to explain something that contradicts both numbers and the eye test either.

I’m sure they’ll figure it out.  Maybe year 4 or 5 will be the charm.

That said, don’t pretend I’m not driven by numbers and facts when facts and numbers support my stance.

I’m sure it’s all an ongoing 3 year coincidence.

Let's assume every single bad miss last game and this one is due to some bad left shoulder injury.

It's possible the left shoulder could be a major factor in many of the wide open misses post shoulder popping in and out. But there's also the possibility that Baker is just missing as he has at various points of his career.

What about these 2 critical misses below:

1.) @ 12:53 video mark. Miss to Wide open Njoku Left it short on a critical 3rd down - This was troubling b/c Baker had no one around him. And he simply just through a duck short. As a result, Browns had to punt. Njoku worked back to the ball. from the all22 angle it looks even worse as Baker had tons of time and could've put the ball anywhere and it could've even led to a TD if Njoku breaks a tackle or if the defender misses.

2.) Hangs a ball inside to Anthony Schwartz. There was so much room to the sideline to make this throw for what should be a routine relatively easy completion. Baker has a tendency in big moments to hang balls inside. He rushes his footwork and slings it out there with too much air and leaves it inside. Schwartz has to stop his momentum and jump inside with the defender on him fighting for the ball. Schwartz still could've made the catch but it's a tough unnecessary jump ball and the defender never should've had the opportunity to make a play on that ball. That's on Baker.

 

3.) I'm willing to cut Baker some slack on the final drive's final play. The other 2 misses are more egregious Baker throws an interception while falling down due to defender grabbing his leg. In the end, somehow someway you have to find a way to make that play to either throw it out of bounds or have the awareness to create space so a late defender can't effect your throw.

Yeah I started watching his release. It looks like he’s not gripping the ball properly. It’s definitely not coming out of his hand right.
